Common Admission Process or CAP for MAH-CET 2018 will be conducted in May. This process is conducted online and the candidates have to fill a separate form for it. Schedule for the same has not been announced yet.
However, once the results are declared, candidates will waste no time in analyzing their MAH-CET score to shortlist Maharashtra colleges. To make this task easier for aspirants, Shiksha has launched the MAH-CET 2018 College Predictor.
Explore colleges based on MAH CET
This tool helps the candidates in making a decision regarding college selection, through various features.
With the help of this predictor tool, the candidates can find out B-schools in their preferred cities, they can apply to, on the basis of their MAH-CET score. The predictor also helps them see the admission rounds they may crack at preferred colleges along with providing resources and insights on courses and institutes.
Multiple filters of the predictor allow the user to search for colleges on all India level, state level and on the basis of various quotas of DTE, Maharashtra.
Besides the Government prescribed Reservation categories, admission through MAH-CET is done broadly under three state quotas. These three state quota categories are –Home University (HU), Other than Home University (OHU) and All India Seats (For Maharashtra State and Outside Maharashtra State).
Home University (HU): Under this category, seats are reserved for home university students i.e. students who have completed graduation from a university located in the same city where their preferred management institute is located. For example, if a student has studied in Mumbai, he/she can seek admission to Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management, under this category.
Other than Home University (OHU): Under OHU, candidates can apply for admission to a B-school located in a city other than the one they completed graduation from. For example, a student who has completed his college degree from Pune, is eligible to apply to a Mumbai institute, under this category.
All India Seats (for Maharashtra State and Outside Maharashtra State): Under this category, students from Maharashtra as well as outside Maharashtra can apply for admission to their preferred institute. For example, a student who has completed his bachelor’s degree from Kolkata can apply to an institute in Pune. This category is open for all. However, caste quota is not applicable in this category.
In this article, we will provide you a step-by-step guide to use the MAH-CET 2018 College Predictor.
FIND CITY AND COLLEGE: To use this feature of the tool, the aspirant needs to enter his/her rank (in numerals) in the given box and select the Reservation category to which they belong i.e. General/SC/ST or OBC. Thereafter, select State Quota Eligibility –All India or Maharashtra. If you are eligible for Maharashtra state quotas, in the next step you can select ‘City’ as an optional choice. After filling all the fields, the aspirant needs to click on the ‘Select Preferred College’ (this filter is optional). The final step is clicking on ‘Show Results’. On desktop, the ‘Load More’ button will expand the list of matched colleges. On mobile, just scroll downwards and the data will auto-load.
