Home University (HU): Under this category, seats are reserved for home university students i.e. students who have completed graduation from a university located in the same city where their preferred management institute is located. For example, if a student has studied in Mumbai, he/she can seek admission to Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management, under this category.

Other than Home University (OHU): Under OHU, candidates can apply for admission to a B-school located in a city other than the one they completed graduation from. For example, a student who has completed his college degree from Pune, is eligible to apply to a Mumbai institute, under this category.

All India Seats (for Maharashtra State and Outside Maharashtra State): Under this category, students from Maharashtra as well as outside Maharashtra can apply for admission to their preferred institute. For example, a student who has completed his bachelor’s degree from Kolkata can apply to an institute in Pune. This category is open for all. However, caste quota is not applicable in this category.

In this article, we will provide you a step-by-step guide to use the MAH-CET 2018 College Predictor.

FIND CITY AND COLLEGE: To use this feature of the tool, the aspirant needs to enter his/her rank (in numerals) in the given box and select the Reservation category to which they belong i.e. General/SC/ST or OBC. Thereafter, select State Quota Eligibility –All India or Maharashtra. If you are eligible for Maharashtra state quotas, in the next step you can select ‘City’ as an optional choice. There are three parameters on the basis of which, you can select the city of your choice.

  • The city where your Bachelor’s degree granting university is
  • The city for which either of your parents have a domicile certificate
  • The city your parents are posted or retired from Government service

After filling all the fields, the aspirant needs to click on the ‘Select Preferred College’ (this filter is optional). The final step is clicking on ‘Show Results’. On desktop, the ‘Load More’ button will expand the list of matched colleges. On mobile, just scroll downwards and the data will auto-load.

As part of results, the student is provided with information about college, branch name, location, admission round and closing rank. Apart from this, the candidate can also download college brochures.

MAH-CET 2018 College Predictor Tool helps to Compare Colleges

Another interesting feature of this tool is college comparison. In case you find it difficult to choose from more than one colleges (in which you are eligible for admission), you must use this feature to take a decision.

To compare colleges, firstly, the candidate needs to check the ‘Add to Compare’ box mentioned next to the name of each college. One can compare maximum of four colleges at one time. After selecting colleges for comparison, click on the ‘Compare’ button.

This activity will provide the following information:

College Name

Course Status

Location

Total Course Fee

Course Name

Course Duration

Total Seats

College Reviews

Infrastructure & Facilities

Govt Recognition

With the given information, the candidate can decide which college is most suitable for him/her.
