
GATE 2026 Application Form: IIT Guwahati has closed the GATE correction facility and registration process. The correction window for defect rectification in application forms is open from March 10 to 15, 2026. Candidates whose application form has defects can login to GOAPS portal and make the required corrections. The GATE correction facility is available at GOAPS portal. Candidates had to create an account at the portal for candidate login: enrollment ID and password. Only registered candidates were able to download GATE admit card 2026, answer key, and check GATE 2026 result.
IIT Guwahati conducted GATE exam on Feb 7, 8, 14, and 15 in two shifts. Candiates who appeared for the exam had to download their GATE 2026 hall ticket using their enrollment ID and password.
This year, IT Guwahati had revised application fee. The GATE 2026 late fee for female/SC/ST/PwD candidates was INR 1500, and for all unreserved candidates, it was INR 2500. GATE 2026 Application Form Correction
The GATE correction window is currently open only for those candidates whose application form has defects. Candidates can make changes up to March 12 by login to GOAPS portal. Candidates can only make changes in the information that has error. During the regular form correction, modifications in the name, date of birth, educational qualifications, gender, etc were allowed. The fees can be checked on the website.

The GATE application form correction facility is activated after the completion of the form submission. The steps to make changes in the application form are as follows -

- Click on candidate login
- Enter enrollment ID and password
- Select particulars and make edits, upload documents if required to confirm
- Make the payment and submit after making required changes
Candidates are advised to download and take a printout of the newly submitted application form with changes made.

How to Add a Secondary Paper after Submitting GATE Application Form?
If you have applied for one paper and submitted the GATE application form, you can still add Paper II during the application process. To do that, follow the steps below - Visit official website of GATE and click on the application form link at GOAPS portal. Then login using enrollment ID and password along with captcha code. After logging, the status will be displayed on screen. Candidates can also find an option to add another paper on screen. Click on paper option and select the branch paper. Pay the fees and submit the form.
How to retrieve GATE 2026 Enrollment ID and Password?
If anyone has forgotten then credentials: enrollment ID or password, then he/she can retrieve it through the GOAPS portal. These login credentials are important as it is required throughout the admission process. To retrieve GATE MTech enrollment ID and password, candidates must follow the steps mentioned below -
- Visit GATE website
- Click on "forgot enrollment ID"
- Enter registered email ID and contact number
- Candidates will receive an OTP on their registered email ID or phone number
- Provide one- time password, and retrive

Uploading documents as per specifications
After filling the details, candidates must upload a scanned copy of the required documents, including photographs, signatures, and category certificates, etc. The documents must be as per specifications. Here is the list of documents that must be uploaded at the time of GATE registration 2026 -

Making payment for the application form
After the above process, students must make the payment of the form to get acceptance. The fees have been revised this year for all categories. Documents required to fill GATE application form
GATE registrations are over. While filling the application form, candidates must keep their documents ready. Here are the list of documents and details required at the time of GATE form filling.
- A recent high-quality image of a candidate's photograph of the specified requirements.
- A good-quality image of the candidate's signature conforming to the specified requirements.
- The candidate must upload a scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) certificate in PDF format (if applicable). Authorised officers must issue the certificate (as mentioned in the official GATE 2026 notification).
- A valid ID proof (uploaded in PDF format) as per the specifications. Candidates must carry the following document to the exam.
- Candidates must specify one of the following valid Photo Identity Documents (IDs): Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Passport, etc.

SCRIBE SPECIFICATIONS:
- The scribe must not be a candidate for the GATE examination.
- The educational qualification of the scribe must be less than the minimum eligibility criteria of GATE exam.
- A panel of (Y+1) scribes for Y candidates will be available at the exam centre so that candidates can choose an alternative scribe for the services.
- Candidates with scribes will be given an extra 1 hour of compensatory time if their writing capabilities are limited.
