NUCAT 2026: Result (OUT), Counselling Schedule, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Syllabus

Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) is the entrance exam for admission to BTech programs at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. The question paper of NUCAT is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills of the students in chosen fieled of study. The question paper for BTech admission includes physics, chemistry, mathematics/ biology subjects whereas for non-technical courses, the questions will be from topics such as English, reasoning, and general knowledge. NUCAT Scores are used by the university to determine eligibility of the students for admission to chosen programme. It may also be used to assign scholarships and financial aid.

The first round Nitte University Counselling for admission through JEE Main was held on June 11. Admission process for NUCAT qualified candidates under TFW and Inclusivity category was held on June 12 and 13 respectively whereas General counselling was conductd on June 15, 2026.

Round 2 counselling was held from July 9 to 20. All eligible candidates had to register online and fill branch choices between July 9 to 10, followed by mock seat allotment on July 10. The actual seat allotment was done in three rounds on July 12, 14 and 16 respectively.  

All applicants whose names appeared on the merit list had to attend the NUCAT 2026 counselling session for admission as per the specified dates. Candidates had to carry their original documents along with 2 xerox copies of each documentation for verification during counselling. The provisional seat allotment letters for the candidates who gets a seats during the counselling process has been issued online. All such candidates have to deposit the fees for the confirmation of admission.

The application form of NUCAT 2026 is closed now. NUCAT application form 2026 was available online. Candidates eligible to fill application form had to apply for NUCAT 2026 by visiting official website. The direct link to apply for NUCAT 2026 was also available in this page.

Candidates must complete the application form by entering name, address, email address, phone number, etc. Only eligible applicants had their application forms accepted by the authorities. The candidates must check eligibility before submitting the application form. While filling the application form, candidates also had to upload scanned images of their passport sizep photo, signature and educational documents. All candidates who filled the application form before the last date were issued hall tickets to appear in the exam. It is necessary to upload the required documents in the online application form, without which the form will not be accepted.

Candidates must ensure they fulfill the NUCAT eligibility criteria before applying. Candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility conditions will not be considered for admission in the institute. The following the the conditions of eligibility:

Class - Candidates must have passed or be attempting Class 12 or equivalent examination in India.

Subjects - Candidates must have studied Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. One subject from Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Electronics, or Information Technology. The candidates must have English as one languages of study in Class 12.

Percentage - The candidate must score 45% marks (40% for reserved category) aggregate in Mathematics, Physics, and any one optional subjects mentioned above, in Class 12.

Age -The applicant must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admissions year.

NRI Category - NRI category is Foreign Nationals or Persons of Indian Origin (Candidates who have completed Class 12 outside of India or Candidates sponsored by parents or blood relatives who have NRI status or Overseas Citizens of India). The admission for NRI category is based on inter-se merit, considering marks got in PCM courses in Class 12.

NUCAT 2026 Admit Card has been released for all three phases. Candidates had to download their admit card by login to the official website- nucat.nitte.edu.in. Applicants must download and print NUCAT admit card as it is mandatory to take admit card to exam centre. Candidates must strictly follow guidelines given on NUCAT 2026 Admit Card. Candidates can contact college if there is error in NUCAT admit card. Candidates must note that they will not be allowed to appear in the exam without proper admit card downloaded from th website.

NUCAT 2026 examination was conducted in online mode. NUCAT 2026 exam had MCQs from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. From each subject, 40 questions came in exam. There were total of 120 questions. For each correct answer, 1 mark was given. There was not any negative marks for wrong answers.
