SSC CHSL will be conducted from 18th March onwards and you should absolutely start preparing for this one. This is another opportunity to prove yourself, so give your best shot.\
SSC has completed its prelims examination process for the 2019 session and surprised us as reasoning was tougher than maths. Anyone who has prepared well can definitely crack the exam and should start preparing for Tier 2. Whatever you did in the exam cannot be changed so do not cry over the spilled milk. Hopefully, normalisation will do some magic like previous exams and will play an essential role for students.
As the first tier has been concluded, everybody is waiting for the answer key and scores so that they can decide whether to work hard for Tier 2 or not. Whatever the outcome is, I strongly suggest that we should not worry about the result and let the bygones be bygone and start preparing for SSC CHSL. Whatever the mistakes you did in SSC CGL, this is another shot to correct such mistakes. SSC CHSL will be conducted from 18th March onwards and you should absolutely start preparing for this one. This is another opportunity to prove yourself, so give your best shot.
SSC CHSL can get you selected in various ministries with a handsome salary and a comfortable work environment. In this commission, most of the jobs are desk jobs but all the jobs are good and satisfactory. The most important thing is that this exam is comparably much easier than SSC CGL. So gear up for this one with full energy and pure dedication.
How to approach for SSC CHSL exam?
Students who have given SSC CGL are well informed that the syllabus is more or less the same for SSC CHSL. So you don’t need to study new topics or new books for this one. If someone is giving this exam for the first time then they should be focusing more on the previous years’ patterns and question papers to get an idea for this exam.
The exam is approaching and we have limited time. I have cleared the SSC exam in previous years, so I will give you some good tips which I followed during the preparation time so I'll be focusing on the things which you can do now to get a good score and better insight into this paper.
- Start revising the topics you have studied before and attempt previous year topic wise questions.
- Practice at least a few mock tests because after all it's an online examination and you have a limited time period.
- Analyse the mistakes done in the mock test and save the important questions if you think it is important.
- Focus on accuracy first rather than speed. Sometimes exams get tough, then speed doesn’t work, only accuracy can get you going.
- Give extra time for current affairs because it is in trend as per recent exams. (Focus on recent 4 months current affairs)
- Be positive and study honestly.
- Avoid giving mocks in the last 2 days before the exam. Use that time period to go over the things again with a clear mind.
Tips to attempt a decent number of questions
Whenever I sense that the exam is tough then I always try to target easy questions first so that I could use the remaining time for the harder questions. If you are having a hard time solving tough questions then you’ll be wasting time because you might solve 1or 2 questions but within that time you can double the number of easy questions. Each question is assigned equal marks then why waste time on tough questions. We should not be wasting time on such questions. Time is very important in this particular exam.
I am good at reasoning so I start with this section usually. If you are good at quants then start with that one. Always try to attempt or at least have a look at each and every question.
Accuracy is very important because negative marking is 0.50 marks. Always try to give 100% of yourself. If you have not attempted the expected number of questions then don't cry over the spilled milk, instead, learn and apply in your next exam.
Remain positive and hope for the best. Sometimes less but accurate attempt gets one selected. Last year, I could not attempt expected number of questions but still got selected for Tier 2 just because of accuracy. So anything is possible. Keep practicing, keep preparing!
All the best for SSC CHSL.
