What is GUJCET?
The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is a state-level entrance test conducted to shortlist candidates for admission into B.Tech and B.Pharm programs are offered by various colleges in Gujarat. The exam is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). The allotment of seats is done based on scores obtained in the entrance exam.
Changes in the GUJCET exam over the years
As per the official announcement from the exam body last year, two new changes were brought in. They are as follows:
- Marks in subjects other than Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12 will also be considered for preparing the merit list.
- Out of total seats in government colleges, 5 percent of seats will be filled through JEE Main 2026 score, while the remaining 95 percent of seats will be filled through GUJCET 2026.

Five-Year Exam Analysis (2021-2025)
From 2021 to 2025, GUJCET has consistently maintained a moderate to difficult level. The question papers follow GSEB and NCERT syllabi. As shared by students during the exam analysis, the Maths section is considered the most challenging and time-consuming. It is lengthy and heavily focuses on Calculus (35% weightage), 3D Geometry, and Vectors.
Physics is generally moderate to difficult level, with high weightage on Electromagnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics. The question paper is evolved to become more conceptual and application-based.
On the other hand, Chemistry is easy, 90% of the questions are from NCERT textbooks, based on Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
For Pharmacy aspirants, Biology section remains straightforward and questions are focused on Human and Plant Physiology.

GSEB has announced the GUJCET exam date 2026. As per the schedule, the exam will be conducted in on March 29, 2026.
Being an entrance exam there are no course fees for the same. However, after you get admission into the college you will have to pay the college fees which will depend upon the college and GUJCET doesn't have any say in that.
As the GUJCET is just an entrance exam, there are no scholarships here. However, if you get shortlisted for a college, you might enquire for scholarships of that particular college.

GUJCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must check the GUJCET 2026 eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The candidature of aspirants not fulfill their eligibility requirements will be rejected. As prescribed by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, the eligibility criteria are mentioned below-
- They must be an Indian and should have a Gujarat domicile.
- They should have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board. Candidates applying
- They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects for pharmacy.
- They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects for Engineering.
- They should have scored 45% (40% for the reserved category) in Class 12.
