JEE Main 2020 Day 3: 57% of students appear for JEE main in West Bengal due to lack of transport facility 

In West Bengal, some of them covered long distances in two-wheelers to reach the JEE Main centres in Covid-19 time, while others had to pay high fares to do the same as per reports. Despite heavy rain and lack of transport facilities 57% reached the centre and appeared in JEE Main 2020 April/September exam.

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics was difficult and lengthy - day 3 of JEE Main 2020

According to students and teachers, the numerical part in every section of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ) was difficult than compared to the January session. Ramesh Batlish, FIITJEE, Noida said, “The Physics was toughest among all sections with numerical based questions were quite difficult. Also in the other two sections- maths and chemistry – the numerical portions were lengthy and difficult".

JEE Main 2020: Bombay HC refuses to stay on JEE Main examination

The Bombay High Court has refused the plea seeking a stay on holding JEE Main exam, that begun today, i.e. September 1, 2020, across the country, and said that any student who is residing in flood-hit parts of Maharashtra's Vidarbha region who is not able to reach to the exam centre or reaches late can apply to the National Testing Agency to seek a re-examination.

Gujrat Govt is well prepared for JEE Main and NEET exams

A total of 38,167 students are expected to appear for the JEE Main 2020 exam. The entrance test will be conducted at 32 centres in 13 districts between September 1 and 6, state Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said in a statement.

Ramesh Pokhriyal asks state CMs to support students with transport facility

Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has appealed to the chief ministers of various states to support the students appearing for the exam. “I appeal to chief ministers of all states that support our students in such unprecedented circumstances and make appropriate arrangements so the aspirants do not have to face any inconvenience. I also appeal to students to have faith in agencies behind the conduct of the examination,” the Education Minister said.

Cabinet Ministers from six states file review in Supreme Court against the August 17 court order dismissing pleas to postpone exams scheduled in September. The petition filed says SC order fails to "secure the safety, security and Right to Life of the Students/Candidates appearing for the NEET/JEE exams". The ministers from West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Maharashtra have filed review petition.

Education Minister has shared that according to NTA, 7.5 lakh out of 8.58 lakh candidates have downloaded the JEE Main 2020 admit card which shows candidates want to appear in the examination at any cost. He added, "JEE exam centres have been increased to 660 from 570 while there are now 3,842 NEET centres, up from 2,546 for the convenience of students. Students have also been allotted exam centres of their choice".

Various Guidelines to be followed by the NTA for the safety of students during the JEE Main 2020

NTA Director has laid out the many precautions that have been put in place. He said that separate SOPs for students, examination centres and procedures to be followed have been notified by NTA. Furthermore, measures like odd-even and social distancing as well as increasing exam centres have been put in place to ensure the safety of students.

Through a press release, NTA has confirmed that the number of JEE Main 2020 exam centres have been increased from 570 to 660. More than 99% of candidates are given their first choice of exam centre.
