On the first day of JEE Main 2020 April/September exam, 45% of students skipped the JEE 2020 April examination. A total of 3,020 Gujarat students registered for JEE Main 2020 Paper 2(Barch) and Paper 3 (BPalnning). Out of which only 1,664 (55%) appeared for the entrance examination on Tuesday i.e September 1. 

"On the first day, out of 3,020 registered students, only 1,664, or 55%, remained present, while 1,356 (45%) did not turn up,” Virendra Ravat, JEE Coordinator for Gujarat told PTI. He also added that normally 25 to 30% skipped the examination every year, however, this time the current figure of students not attending the JEE Main 2020 exam was 10-15% more.

After several debates and student protests, JEE Main 2020 exam is being held from September 1 to 6 in computer-based mode at 660 centres across India and abroad. The morning shift is being held from 9 am to 12 pm while the evening shift is conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm. NTA has provided a detailed JEE Main 2020 instructions and COVID-19 guidelines on its official website which is strictly followed across all the examination centres.

JEE Main 2020 April/September examination on the first day was conducted for BArch and BPlanning. Candidates who appeared in the entrance test found the paper to be moderate to easy in terms of difficulty level. There was no glitch in the question papers as reported by the students.

No, JEE Main is not compulsory to get admission in BTech at Chanakya University. The university considers valid score of entrance exams such as: JEE, KCET, COMEDK or any other state entrance exam.

Yes, candidates can apply for BTech admission at Manav Rachna University, Faridabad without appearing in JEE Main. Aside from this entrance exam, MRU also accepts scores of SAT, MRNAT, MRSAT and CUET-UG for BTech admissions.

Yes, JEE Main is required for admission to IIT Bombay's BTech programmes. It is an eligibility requirement for JEE Advanced. Students cannot get admission to IIT Bombay using only the JEE Main score.
