Q: Tell us about yourself. Which school and board have you studied from?
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
Rishi: I am currently studying in the 12th standard. I am from Hyderabad, Telangana and have studied at Pallavi Model School, Alwal.
Q: Along with a wonderful performance in JEE Main, you have also achieved great results in the Olympiads.
Rishi: Yes. I have given Olympiads since I was in 5th-6th standard. In 10th standard, I attempted the Science and Mathematics Olympiads. My overall experience in the Olympiads was great. It also helped me improve my speed because Mathematics is all about time. Since Science is about knowledge, it helped me grow my knowledge for the boards and JEE Main.
Q: Why did you choose Engineering as your choice of higher study? Which branch will you opt for?
Rishi: I am interested in Mathematics and Physics, so I chose Engineering as my choice of higher study. I was clear about my decision since the 8th standard. I have decided to aim for Computer Science as my branch because there is a lot of creativity involved in this field and provides us with a lot of job opportunities.
Q: When did you start your JEE Main 2024 preparation?
Rishi: I started my JEE Main preparation process at the end of my 10th standard.
Q: What was your daily routine during the JEE Main preparation process?
Rishi: I first studied Mathematics, then Physics and finally Chemistry. I used to allot three hours to each subject every day.
Q. Did you self-study or did you prepare with the help of coaching experts?
A. I took the two-year classroom programme from Aakash to prepare for JEE Main 2024.
Q: Did you face any difficulty while attempting JEE Main 2024?
Rishi: No. I was familiar with the pattern because Aakash Coaching Institute conducted regular computer-based tests during preparation.
Q: Was there any different strategy that you adopted during the final month of preparation for JEE Main 2024?
Rishi: I prepared for the JEE Main and board examinations simultaneously, as there is not much difference in the syllabus.
Q: Do you think previous years' papers and mock tests help in the JEE Main 2024 preparation?
Rishi: Yes. I attempted a lot of mock tests and sample papers at my coaching institute which helped me get prepared for JEE Main. Previous year papers are very beneficial as they help us get an idea of the overall exam and what questions can be asked. I would suggest checking the previous years' papers to prepare for JEE Main.
Q: NTA had reduced the JEE Main syllabus. Did you find questions from the removed topics in the exam?
Rishi: No. All questions were as per the official JEE Main 2024 syllabus.

Q: Which section was the toughest in JEE Main 2024 Session 1?
Rishi: The toughest section in JEE Main 2024 Session 1 was Mathematics and the easiest was Chemistry.
Q: Will you be appearing for the JEE Main 2024 April session?
Rishi: No. I will now be focusing on JEE Advanced 2024.
Q: According to you, what helped you in attaining the full JEE Main 2024 score?
Rishi: The key things that helped me were my self-determination, my interest in the subjects, hard work and motivation from my parents.
Q: While preparing for the exam, do you have any activity to help you lighten the stress?
Rishi: I usually go out for a walk whenever I feel stressed. I also listen to music since it helps me to calm down. I practice breathing exercises so that I do not get stressed.
Q: Who is your inspiration?
Rishi: My parents. They have always motivated me and supported my career drive.
Q: Any word of advice to future JEE Main aspirants?
Rishi: Try to focus on errors and silly mistakes should be avoided. In the end, if we make a silly mistake, then our hard work ends up futile. Be confident and success will follow.
