JEE Main City Intimation Slip

How to download JEE Main City Intimation Slip:  NTA released the JEE Mains city intimation slip on January 8, 2026. The city intimation consists of allotted JEE Main 2026 exam date and city name, along with the name of paper applied by candidates, application number, candidate’s parent name, candidate’s gender, date of birth, category, and more details.

The JEE Main city slip can be downloaded online from the official website of JEE Main 2026 - jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA is not going to send the city slip individually to the candidates via email. Therefore, as soon as the JEE Main exam 2026 city slip is out, candidates must use their application number and password to log in and download the PDF.

As per many experts, JEE Main 2026 exam held in session 1 was the toughest in recent history.

Chemistry was the easiest subject and NCERT based. It was lengthy and tricky this year.

To download the city slip, candidates have to follow the steps below:

  • Visit official JEE Main website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • On homepage, click on "JEE Main 2026 City Intimation for session 1".
  • Enter the details for JEE Main 2026 login - Application Number and Password or Date of Birth along with security pin (as displayed on screen).
  • Click submit button to open candidate dashboard and the city allotment details will be displayed.
  • Save document as PDF and take printout for future reference.

Difference Between JEE Main Exam City Slip and Admit Card

The city intimation slip is different from JEE Main 2026 admit card. The city intimation slip is not admit card as it does not contain exact exam center address or shift timing. Here are some of the difference between these two documents -

JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip: Important Instructions

  • Student need not carry city slip to the JEE Main exam centre. They must only carry their printed hall ticket along with valid Photo ID such as aadhar card, voter ID, PAN card etc.
  • If there is discrepancy in slip or students are not able to download it, they must contact NTA Helpdesk at 011-40759000 or email them at jeemain@nta.ac.in.
  • Requests to change allotted exam city are generally not entertained by NTA.

How to Recover JEE Main Lost Login Credentials?

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main 2026
  • On the homepage, click on "Forgot Application Number" link and enter name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth.
  • The login details will be retrieved on-screen or via registered email of candidate

Reset password using one of three methods:

  • Answering Security Question chosen during registration.
  • Via the Verification Code sent via SMS to registered mobile number.
  • Or through the Reset Link sent to registered email address.

There are high chances that while downloading city intimation slip or hall ticket or any detail on website, candidates might encounter technical hurdles. Here are some of tips to avoid this scenario:

  • High traffic means slow loading or lags on the system.

Students who belong to the General AI category need to secure a rank between 1528 and 2158 to be eligible for BTech CSE branch. On the other hand, the OBC AI category students need a rank between 495 and 3690. Please note that other categories will have different cutoffs accordingly.
