How to download JEE Main City Intimation Slip: NTA released the JEE Mains city intimation slip on January 8, 2026. The city intimation consists of allotted JEE Main 2026 exam date and city name, along with the name of paper applied by candidates, application number, candidate’s parent name, candidate’s gender, date of birth, category, and more details.

NTA has conducted the JEE Main 2026 January session exam for BE/BTech candidates successfully across multiple cities in India and abroad. The exam was held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 and on each day, there were 2 shifts. A total of 10 shifts were held for Paper 1. As per the official NTA data, across the 10 shifts, 13,00,368 candidates have appeared out of the 13,50,969 candidates scheduled to appear.
As per many experts, JEE Main 2026 exam held in session 1 was the toughest in recent history.
Chemistry was the easiest subject and NCERT based. It was lengthy and tricky this year.
Maths was the toughest, and physics was also moderate to tough. Overall paper was lengthy, and candidates found it difficult to manage time and complete paper on time.

To download the city slip, candidates have to follow the steps below:
- Visit official JEE Main website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- On homepage, click on "JEE Main 2026 City Intimation for session 1".
- Enter the details for JEE Main 2026 login - Application Number and Password or Date of Birth along with security pin (as displayed on screen).
- Click submit button to open candidate dashboard and the city allotment details will be displayed.
- Save document as PDF and take printout for future reference.

Difference Between JEE Main Exam City Slip and Admit Card

JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip: Important Instructions
- Student need not carry city slip to the JEE Main exam centre. They must only carry their printed hall ticket along with valid Photo ID such as aadhar card, voter ID, PAN card etc.
- If there is discrepancy in slip or students are not able to download it, they must contact NTA Helpdesk at 011-40759000 or email them at jeemain@nta.ac.in.
- Requests to change allotted exam city are generally not entertained by NTA.
How to Recover JEE Main Lost Login Credentials?
- Visit the official website of JEE Main 2026
- On the homepage, click on "Forgot Application Number" link and enter name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth.
- The login details will be retrieved on-screen or via registered email of candidate
Reset password using one of three methods:
- Answering Security Question chosen during registration.
- Via the Verification Code sent via SMS to registered mobile number.
- Or through the Reset Link sent to registered email address.
