To begin your preparation for JEE Advanced, you need to understand the difficulty level of the exam. The exam is considered to be the toughest entrance exam in the country and to crack this you need to have the right preparation strategy.
So, I would like to list some top preparation tips that would help you achieve the top-scorer position in JEE Advanced:
Understand JEE Advanced Syllabus and Exam Pattern
Most importantly you have to understand the syllabus and exam pattern because is it completely different from other entrance exams. The JEE Advanced syllabus included Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Architecture based on your selection.
Explore colleges based on JEE Advanced
On the other hand, the exam is computer-based developed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, for 2020. JEE Advanced contains two paper exams. In Paper-I, Physics, Chemistry and Maths are tested. Similarly, in Paper-II these three subjects are again tested. You have three hours for each paper to complete your paper. JEE Advanced has multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with numeric value-based answer questions. This exam does contain questions that you have to solve in order to get the marks because this format will completely test your skills rather than other exams in which you can rely on your luck in some questions. Grabbing a seat in IITs is a big deal, so you have to have that much knowledge and passion.
JEE Advanced Time Management
According to me, time management is one of the major criteria through which you can really succeed in your life. For this exam, you have to be more concentrated and focused than before. The plans you had during the preparation for other exams are not going to work for this one because this exam does contain some really knowledge-based questions. So, to solve that type of questions you have to know all the basic concepts.
I don’t think so that I need to explain the importance of this exam because you all know it way better.
JEE Advanced Study Plan
The most used study plan for this exam is to understand each and every basic concept and then try to solve questions as much as you can. Previous-years’ papers and mock tests will surely provide a clear idea about the pattern and difficulty level of JEE Advanced.
I must say that you have to be really focused for this exam. Your willpower will guide you in the correct direction. Revision will also pay you really good with marks in this exam. All the formulas should be learned completely because a little mistake can deflect you chances to get admission in top IITs.
So, at the end, the most important tip is to be relaxed and focus during the preparation or during the exam. Your nervousness will create problems for you so try to reduce it as much as you can.

You will not be eligible for admission as preparatory ranks are not considered under round 1. Since you have already qualified to appear for JEE (Advanced), all you need to do is meet the second criterion and apply for round 2, which will be only conducted if seats from round 1 remain vacant.

Yes, you can still get admission in Round 2 if you meet eligibility criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) and have a valid JEE (Mains) rank. Also, you must have scored 60% or above in class 12th. For SC/ST/PwD category students, 55% or above is required.

No, candidates need not pay any fees to participate in JEE Adv counselling. However, once the seat is allotted, candidates will need to pay approximately INR 35,000 (less for reserved category) as a seat acceptance fee and around INR 20,000 as partial admission fees.
