CUET UG 2025 Result Delay

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is under intense scrutiny as the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025 results remain delayed, leaving over 13.5 lakh candidates in limbo. The exam, conducted from May 13 to June 4, 2025, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across India and abroad, has been plagued by controversies, including reported discrepancies in the provisional answer key and a lack of clear communication from the NTA. The delay has sparked widespread outrage, with students and educators taking to X to express their frustration and demand accountability.

The NTA released the provisional answer key on June 17, 2025, allowing candidates to raise objections until June 20. However, students have reported issues such as “magically altered” answers in the key, raising concerns about the exam’s integrity. The final answer key, which will determine the results, is still under review by subject experts, with no official release date announced. Candidates are directed to check cuet.nta.nic.in for updates, but the absence of a clear timeline has intensified public discontent.

One of the CUET UG 2025 candidate echoing demands to “shut down the NTA,” citing its repeated failures across exams like CUET, NEET, and NET.

The CUET UG 2025 exam, critical for admission to undergraduate programs in central and participating universities, included 37 subjects and saw a re-test on June 2 and 4 for candidates affected by logistical issues on May 13 and 16. The delay in results is particularly concerning as it disrupts university admission timelines, with some institutions, like the University of Allahabad, already opening counseling registration from June 30 to July 15, 2025. Unlike NEET or JEE, CUET UG lacks centralized counseling, requiring candidates to apply separately to each university, adding pressure to an already uncertain process.

The NTA’s track record has further fueled the outrage. Past controversies, including alleged issues with other exams like NEET UG and UGC NET, have cast a shadow over the agency’s credibility. A post by @AskRishiSir on June 26, 2025, claimed an NTA official indicated the final answer key might be released between July 3–5, with results expected between July 7–10, though this remains unconfirmed by the NTA.

Another user, questioned the delay noting that “lakhs of students are unable to make decisions” due to the prolonged wait, a sentiment that resonates even more strongly now.

The backlash extends beyond CUET UG, with users on X drawing parallels to issues with other NTA-conducted exams. A post by @sunil__nain, criticized the NTA’s “double standards,” pointing out the swift release of NEET UG results compared to CUET UG’s delays, further stoking perceptions of unfairness. The hashtag #CUETResult has been trending, with students sharing fears about delayed admissions and calling for systemic reforms to restore trust in the examination process.

Education experts have argued that the NTA’s recurring issues—ranging from technical glitches to out-of-syllabus questions—highlight the need for a structural overhaul. The agency’s silence on the result timeline has only deepened the crisis, with students urging immediate action to prevent further disruption to their academic futures.

As the wait for CUET UG 2025 results continues, the NTA faces a critical test of its ability to regain public confidence. For now, candidates are left checking cuet.nta.nic.in for updates, while the chorus of voices on X grows louder, demanding accountability and transparency from an agency increasingly seen as failing its mandate.
