JAC 12th Syllabus 2026: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) releases the JAC 12th Class syllabus 2025-26. The board will soon release the JAC Class 12 syllabus 2026 for all stream subjects at once. JAC 12th syllabus 2026 is made available online on the board's website at jac.jharkhand.gov.in. Apart from the official website, we also provide direct links to download the subject-wise Jharkhand Board 12th syllabus on this page. The Syllabus for JAC Class 12 covers all the important topics a student needs to cover to ace the examinations. Students must be thorough with the entire Syllabus as well as the JAC 12th Exam Pattern.

JAC Class 12 examinations 2026 will be conducted between February and March 2026.

Students must note that the Jharkhand Board refers to NCERT books to prepare the students for the 12th board exams. Thus, students must go through the NCERT books thoroughly before referring to any other books. The NCERT solutions for Class 11, 12 for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can be downloaded from the links below. Q:   Are there any major changes in JAC 12th Syllabus?
A: 

The board released the JAC class 12 syllabus 2024-25. As it has been released, we have also provided detail on the same on this page. This year too, Jharkhand Board decided to cover the entire syllabus. Students can find subject wise downloadable links of JAC syllabus 2025 on this page. JAC refers NCERT books to prepare its students for the 12th board exams. The links to download the NCERT solutions Class 11, 12 of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are provided on this page. 

Q:   What are the streams of the JAC 12th exam?
A: 

After passing the class 10 exams, all the students are required to choose one stream to study in class 11 and 12 in JAC Board. The JAC 12th exam is conducted across three streams, namely, Science, Commerce and Arts or Humanities. The students must opt any of stream from these while getting enrolled to class 11. Based on selection made by the students, the schools/colleges will arrange classes for the students. The board hold the JJAC 12th board exams in February every year.

JAC 12th English Syllabus 2025-26

Section A: Reading Skills
1. One unseen passage to test comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference and vocabulary. The passage may be factual, descriptive or literary.
2. One unseen case-based factual passage with verbal/visual inputs like statistical data, charts etc. for assessing comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation. Note: The combined word limit for both passages will be 600-750.
Section B: Writing
II Grammar (7 Marks)
4. Questions on Gap filling: Tenses, Clauses.
5. Questions on re-ordering/transformation of sentences: Total seven questions to be done out of the eight given.
III Creative Writing Skills (16 Marks)
6. Short writing task – Classified Advertisements, up to 50 words. One out of the two given questions to be answered (3 Marks: Format: 1 / Content: 1 / Expression: 1).
7. Short writing task –Poster up to 50 words. One out of the two given questions is to be answered. (3 marks:Format: 1 / Content: 1 / Expression: 1).
8. Long Writing task: Speech in 120-150 words based on verbal/visual cues on contemporary / age-appropriate topics. One out of the two given questions is to be answered. (5 Marks: Format: 1 / Content: 2 / Expression: 2).
9. Long Writing Task: Debate based on visual/verbal inputs in 120-150 words, thematically related to contemporary, topical issues. One out of the two given questions is to be answered. (5 Marks: Format: 1 / Content: 2 / Expression: 2).
Section C: Literature Textbook and Supplementary Reading Text
This section will include questions of various types: Multiple Choice Questions, Objective Type Questions, Short Answer Type Questions & Long Answer Type Questions that are meant to assess the level of comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and extrapolation beyond the text.
10. One Poetry extract out of two, from the book Hornbill, to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference, and appreciation. (3x1=3 Marks)
11. One Prose extract out of two, from the book Hornbill, to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation and appreciation. (3 x1 = 3 Marks)
12. One prose extract out of two, from the Snapshots book to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference, and appreciation. (4x1=4 Marks)
13. Two short-answer type questions (one from Prose and one from Poetry, from the book Hornbill), out of four, to be answered in 40-50 words. Questions should elicit inferential responses through critical thinking. (3x2=6 Marks) 14. One short-answer type question, from the book Snapshots, to be answered in 40 - 50 words. Questions shall aim at inferential response through critical thinking. One out of two questions to be done. (3x1=3 Marks) 15. One Long answer-type question, from the Prose/Poetry of Hornbill, to be answered in 120-150 words. Questions can be based on incident/theme/passage/extract/event, as reference points to assess extrapolation beyond and across the text. The question will elicit analytical and evaluative responses from the student. Anyone out of two questions to be done. (1x6=6 Marks) 16. One long-answer type question, based on the chapters from the book Snapshots, is to be answered in 120-150 words, to assess global comprehension and extrapolation beyond the text. Questions to provide analytical and evaluative responses, using incidents, events, and themes as reference points. Anyone out of two questions to be done. (1x6=6 Marks)

Q:   How long will it take to cover entire JAC 12th syllabus?
A: 

It completely depend on student's level of understanding, daily study routine, and the pace of their learning. IN general, if a student follow a focused exam preparation routine then their syllabus wll be completed within 6 to 8 month. Students should prepare a suitable daily study schedule considering their priority papers and topics and follow them on daily basis.

Ordered pairs. Cartesian product of sets. Number of elements in the Cartesian product of two finite sets. Cartesian product of the set of reals with itself (upto R x R x R).Definition of relation, pictorial diagrams, domain, co-domain and range of a relation. Function as a special type of relation. Pictorial representation of a function, domain, co-domain and range of a function. Real valued functions, domain and range of these functions, constant, identity, polynomial, rational, modulus, signum, exponential, logarithmic and greatest integer functions, with their graphs. Positive and negative angles. Measuring angles in radians and in degrees and conversion from one measure to another. Definition of trigonometric functions with the help of unit circle. Calculus

Derivative introduced as rate of change both as that of distance function and geometrically. Intuitive idea of limit. Limits of polynomials and rational functions trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic  functions. Definition of derivative relate it to scope of tangent of the curve, derivative of sum, difference, product and quotient of functions. Derivatives of polynomial and trigonometric functions.

Statistics

Overall, the level of JAC class 12 board exams is not different than other 12th boards in India. However, the difficulty level of the JAC 12th exam can be termed as moderate to tough. Hence, to perform well in the exam, the students must think of covering the entire JAC 12th syllabus. Q:   When will the JAC 12th Exam be conducted?

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced the Jharkhand Board 12th time table 2025. The board announced the JAC 12th Board exam dates 2025 on December 17, 2024. As per the announced exam date, the JAC class 12 exams 2025 will be conducted from February 11 to March 4, 2025. The JAC 12th practicals will be hold from March 5 to 20, 2025

In 2024, JAC class 12 exams were conducted from February 6, 2024 and February 26, 2024. Exam commenced with the Vocation Subject and concluded with the conduction of Political Science paper.

Q:   What is the total marks of the JAC 12th exam?
A: 

Jharkhand Board prescribe the JAC 12th exam pattern in the form of JAC 12th sample paper. It is made available online on the official website of the board at jac.jharkhand.gov.in. JAC class 12 sample paper include the pattern of actual exam. As per JAC class 12 exam pattern, the total marks of the JAC 12th exam is 500. Each subject carries a total of 100 marks. To pass JAC 12th exams 2024,  a student must achieve a score of 33 percent. The JAC Class 12 passing marks are 24 out of 70 and 33 out of 100 for each subject.
