CUSAT CAT 2026 Preparation Strategy

Check some prep tips for the CUSAT CAT exam below:

  • Cover Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT concepts thoroughly. CUSAT strictly aligns with the board syllabus, and direct theoretical or simple formula-based questions frequently pop up.
  • Because Math consists of 90 questions, it dictates your final rank. Study up to the JEE Main level for calculus, vectors, matrices, and probability.
  • Design single-page reference charts for Physics and Math formulas and pin them near your study space for quick reference.
  • CUSAT Physics focuses heavily on application-based numerical problems. Practice standard reference books beyond basic NCERT.
  • Take at least 2 to 3 full-length mock tests per week under a strict 3-hour timer.
  • The new +4/-1 penalty makes wild guessing highly dangerous. Use mock tests to practice leaving overly complex questions blank.
  •  Use your mock data to identify your weakest 5 chapters. Dedicate 60% of your remaining time to fixing those gaps.
