NIOS 12th subject list consists of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, History, etc. NIOS subjects for class 12th are grouped into six groups namely A, B, C, D, E and F. For NIOS 12th students, a minimum of 5 subjects with one or a maximum of 2 languages is mandatory. Students should note that two additional subjects can be taken from any group (only one from each group C,D, E, and F) with additional fees as per the norms given by the NIOS.

NIOS board is strictly against the practise of using any unfair means during the examinations. The board is actively working to prevent and discourage any malpractice during board examinations every year. So, you are advised to go through the NIOS 12th syllabus and solve as many previous years question papers and sample papers to avoid cheating during the NIOS board exams.
You should have thorough knowledge of the text books. Through hard work and proper learning, one can clear all the subjects. Make short notes of every chapter with important formulas and points. Solving the previous year NIOS question papers will also help to clear the NIOS exam. Write and practice problems in Mathematics and Science. Regular revision is very important to score good marks in the NIOS exam.
Students have the option to offer only one subject from each group of group C, D, E and F.
Scheme of Studies
- Five Subjects with at least one language or at most two languages.
- Minimum of five subjects.
- Two additional subjects can also be opted.
- The candidates are recommended to select the subjects as per their future plan of study and work.
- Minimum one and Maximum two language subjects from group A are allowed for certification. However, a third language can be offered as an additional subject.
Students should prepare well to achieve good results for the NIOS board exams.
Students at the Secondary level need to take a minimum of 5 subjects. This should include at least one language and no more than 2 languages. They can take a maximum of 7 subjects. The minimum pass percentage for the NIOS 10th is 33. To clear NIOS 10th class, students need to clear a minimum of five subjects, with at least one language from Group A and the remaining three or four subjects from Group B.
TMA is for 20 marks. TMA is applicable for admission through stream–I of online. These should be submitted before appearing in the Public Examination of the particular subject. The Tutor Marked Assignment at Secondary level will carry 20% weightage of theory part in the external examination. These marks will be shown separately in the marks sheet along with the external examination paper.
Making a study schedule helps in covering each subject and the important topics. Students can attend tuition classes. Solving previous years’ NIOS 10th question papers prepares the students in completing the paper on time. Make notes while learning diagrams, formulae and important points. It helps in learning faster and notes come handy in revision. Students must follow their study plan and keep themselves motivated. They must cover the entire syllabus thoroughly and also the NIOS 10th exam pattern.

For NIOS exam, students have to learn by themselves. It is better if you start studying for the NIOS board exams as early as possible. To prepare for the NIOS exams, you must go through the important points. Try and understand the concept and then you can score well by writing answers in your own words.
