JEE Advanced 2021: Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank would be announcing the JEE Advanced 2021 dates and eligibility criteria for admission to IITs. The minister would be announcing the same through his Twitter and Facebook page at 6 pm today i.e. January 7, 2021.
Along with the dates, the Education Minister is also expected to announce the number of attempts that would be allowed for a candidate to appear in the exam.
JEE Advanced is conducted by either of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) every year for admission to the most premier engineering institutes in India. Students have to qualify JEE Main examination to be eligible to appear for the examination. Also, only two consecutive attempts are allowed for JEE Advanced examination, unlike JEE Main where there is no cap on the number of examinations.

In 2020, with the outbreak of the pandemic, many students had reached out to the Education Minister and the IITs to allow for relaxation in the number of attempts clause of the JEE Advanced eligibility. Educationists had also requested for better access to students as they pointed out that the stress of the pandemic has had a long impact on the students.

Live Update-2: Education Minister has started the interaction with candidates for JEE Advanced 2021 dates
Live Update-3: As per the announcement by the Education Minister, the criteria of top 75 percentage in board exam to appear in the JEE Advanced 2020 has been scrapped for candidates to appear in the exam.
Live Update-4: JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted by the IIT Kharagpur for candidates on July 3. Other than the exam date, the Education Minister did not announce any other dates related to the exam.
Another important thing here is that there is no announcement regarding the number of attempts by the candidates for the exam. So, it can be inferred from here that the earlier rules will be followed in this regard.

The JEE Advanced last round closing rank was 1434. Students with a valid JEE Advanced rank need to participate in the JoSAA round for admission to BTech in CSE course.

No, you can get admission at IIT Goa with a rank of 20,000 if you belong to the General AI category. For this category, the maximum rank accepted was 14290 for the BTech in Mechanical Engineering course. Hence, General AI category students need a rank of at least 14290 to be eligble for admission. C
