Predict your rank through Shiksha's JEE Main rank predictor tool.
To develop a better understanding of how to use the JEE Main branch predictor tool, we provide you with step-by-step guidance on what you need to do in order to predict college/colleges which will offer you admissions in the engineering branch of your choice:
Step 1- Select your preferred branch
In the first field of Shiksha’s JEE Main Branch Predictor Tool, you have to select the engineering branch of your choice. Here, the tool offers you a list of 25 engineering branches from which you have to select the branch of your choice. A point to note here is that you can select multiple branches as per your preference.
After you have selected the engineering branch/branches of your choice, you need to enter the rank you have scored in JEE Main. Students, who are using the tool before the ranks have been declared, have to mention the rank which they expect to achieve in JEE Main.
Similar to JEE Main College Predictor tool to predict college and branch, in the JEE Main Branch predictor tool, you are provided with an option where you can predict your rank. In order to predict your rank, you need to click on the small blue link which says, “Find your Rank”. When you click this link a table opens up wherein you can view expected marks in JEE Main and the corresponding ranks in the exam for those marks.
A point to note here is that the marks scored and predicted ranks are on the basis of JEE Main 2016 closing ranks.
In the next step of finding the college for a branch in the JEE Main Branch Predictor tool, aspirants need to select their rank type from – All India Rank (AIR) and Home State Rank.
In the next field, you have to select the category which you have mentioned in your JEE Main application form. The category options from which aspirants can choose include – general category, general physically disabled (PD) category, other backward classes (OBC) category, other backward classes physically disabled category, schedule caste (SC) category, schedule caste physically disabled category, schedule tribe (ST) category and schedule tribe physically disabled category.
In the final step, you have to select the JEE Main counselling round wherein you want to find out the list of colleges that will offer you admissions in the engineering branch of your choice. The counselling rounds from which you can select are Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Spot round and Extra spot round.
In the first three counselling rounds, only government colleges take part. However, if seats are left vacant after the first three rounds then two more JEE Main counselling rounds take place which are called ‘Spot round’ followed by 'Extra spot round'. In these two rounds, vacant seats in government institutes are filled. Also, in these two JEE Main counselling rounds private colleges also take part.
On clicking this button, a list of 15 findings appear wherein the branch name, college name, counselling round and closing rank for the branch is mentioned.
Candidates can also save the results of their search by printing them or emailing the same to their respective email IDs. Further, you can also invite friends to try their hands at the JEE Main Branch Predictor Tool of Shiksha.com
A point to note here is that JEE Main college predictor provides information about colleges as well as branches only for the purpose of reference. The data compiled and reflected is on the basis of JEE Main 2016 closing ranks.
Apart from this, at any point of time, if you wish to enter a separate set of data in the JEE Main Branch Predictor Tool then you can click on the “modify search” option that is available at the right hand top corner of the page, that is, above the results list displayed before you.
