JEE Main 2021 April and May exam has only one day gap. Several students are demanding to postpone JEE Main 2021 phase 4 exam.

The demand for postponement of JEE Main 2021 May attempt has picked up once again. NTA announced JEE Main 2021 exam dates for the postponed phase 3 (April) and phase 4 (May) exam on July 6. As per the new JEE Mains 2021 dates, 3rd attempt will be held from July 20 to 25 while the 4th attempt will be conducted with only one day gap from July 27 to August 2. Students are demanding that there should be atleast 15 days gap between the 3rd and 4th attemp exam.

Several students have written to the new Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requesting to reschedule the JEE Main 2021 4th attempt with atleast 15 days gap from 3rd attempt. NTA generally provides 15-30 days gap between the two sessions but the gap has been shrunk in JEE Main 2021 session 3 and 4 to minimize the loss of academic calendar. After the announcement of JEE Main result, JEE Advanced will be conducted. If JEE Main is held as per the current schedule, JEE Advanced can also be conducted in August last week.

The other reason for demand in postponement is just one day gap betweem JEE Main 2021 phase 3 and 4 exam. The gap between two exams is very crucial from students point of view. Students analyze and rectify their mistakes they usually do in their exam and prepare for the next exam accordingly. With only one day gap between the 3rd and 4th attempt, students will not get any time to learn from their mistakes. Moreover, less gap between two exam could lead to anxiety and pressure for many students.

NTA decided to conduct JEE Main 2021 in four sessions to give students more chances of improving their performance in exam but only one day gap does not serve the purpose of holding exams in several attempts.

This year NTA is conducting JEE Main 2021 in four attempts. The first two had attempts had been conducted in February and March successfully and results have also been announced for both the sessions.

The Application forms for JEE Main 2021 May attempt is open from July 9 to 12. Candidates interested in appearing JEE Main 2021 phase 4 can fill JEE Main application form 2021 during the specified dates. Correction and change in exam city preference is also open in JEE Main 2021 May attempts from July 9 to 12. JEE Main admit card 2021 for April and May exam will be released after the closure of application form and correction window.

Students who gave the JEE Main session 2 exam and want to take admission at IITs should start preparing for the JEE Advanced exam. Students with a more than 98th percentile should start to study for the JEE Advanced exam.

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional option

With a JEE Main 2026 rank of 400,510 (≈ 70 percentile), admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is not possible.

    • Even for lower-demand branches (Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy), closing ranks are usually within 2–2.5 Lacs (General category).

With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs. Top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are out of reach, but options like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Kota, III
