TNEA 2026 Registration Dates
The TNEA application process includes registration, filling out the application form, previewing the form, paying the application fee, and generating the confirmation page. After completing the online application, candidates must print a copy of the form for future reference. Those who have completed or are appearing for their 10+2 exams are eligible for TNEA 2026 counselling. The admission is based on the candidate's marks in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, which will be normalized to 200 (Maths - 100, Physics - 50, Chemistry - 50). The steps for the TNEA counselling application process are as follows: Registration, Login, Filling out the application form, Previewing and final submission, Payment of the application fee, and Printing the application form.

To apply for TNEA 2026, candidates have to meet the below requirements: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates). They should have passed the 10+2 exam from Tamil Nadu board or any equivalent board. They must have cleared any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) with one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Apart from that, they following requirements must be also met: Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed their Class VIII to Class XII standard in Tamil Nadu. Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission. Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2026 application form submission had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their domicile. Other state candidates who have studied from Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2026. Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards or their equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA.

TNEA 2026 Random Number Release Date
All the applicants are assigned a random number for the tie breaker process in the TNEA merit list. If all other tie-breaking criteria for determining rank in the TNEA merit list are unsuccessful, a 10-digit random number assigned to each candidate is used to break the ties. The candidate with the higher value of the random number is given preference in the merit list. Based on the class 12 marks submitted by the candidates in TNEA registration, the TNEA merit list is drawn. To calculate the TNEA rank list the class 12 scores of the candidates are scaled down to 200 (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 50, Chemistry: 50). This scaled down score is used to rank the candidates for the TNEA counselling process. Candidates can also raise any issue if they face in the TNEA rank list. They have to report the issue within the specified time duration in the TNEA 2026 counselling schedule.

TNEA 2026 rank list will be out on June 2026. The rank / merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which is reduced to 200, Maths -100, Physics - 50 and Chemistry - 50. After the seat allotment is done, candidates have to select any one of the below given options for their allotted seats:
