4. Speed

Since the time duration of the exam has been reduced by one hour, CAT 2020 is going to be about two important factors: Speed and accuracy. So, in the last five-six days, your focus should be on improving time management skills further. Finishing the paper with some buffer time in hand is crucial. Don’t get stuck on one question. If you are finding it difficult to understand the question or you aren’t sure about it, move on to the next problem immediately.

5. Accuracy

Due to negative marking, selection of questions will play a crucial role in CAT 2020 exam. Candidates need to identify questions that they can attempt correctly and quickly. Try to avoid answering questions about which you are having second thoughts. There is no space for errors in CAT as even a fraction of marks can put your MBA plan into jeopardy.

6. No New Topics

Do not touch any new topic or new subject in the last week of CAT exam. This might end up in more confusion than clarification. Steer clear of preparing for new topics at this stage. Just focus on revision, time management, shortcuts, tricks and mental calculation.

7. Sectional Cut-Offs

Don’t forget, during IIM admission, your sectional scores will be taken into consideration for WAT-PI shortlisting. The minimum qualifying CAT cut off is 85 percentile in top IIMs and 70 percentile in the rest of the IIMs for General category students. So, do not ignore one section for another. Solve each section keeping in mind that you need to attempt 70-75 questions correctly. An overall raw score of 157-160 can fetch 99 percentile for which you need to solve 26-28 questions in VARC, 18-20 in DILR and 24-26 in QA correctly.

8. Last Minute Tips for VARC , DILR and QA

Here are some quick last minute revision tips for VARC, DILR and QA sections. In these articles, seasoned experts discuss exam strategies, what to expect and how to tackle problems.
