Secured a minimum 50% in the English subject either in Class 10 or in Class 12 (applicable to all the categories). Candidate should also qualify the CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU). Candidates have to submit physical fitness and eye fitness certificates as well. The certificate should be obtained from Medical Examiners and approved by DG Shipping.
Naval Architecture & Ship Building	Scored 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 examination or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognized Board. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should be the compulsory subjects along with the other subjects in the qualifying examination. Obtained 50% in the Mathematics subject. Must have scored 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together.
Instrumentation & Technology	Obtained 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together in the qualifying examination. Obtained 55% in the Mathematics subject.
Polymer Science & Engineering	Passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as an optional subject or any other equivalent examination with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board. Secured 50% in the Mathematics subject.
