For those students who were sponsored by the state government, the starting date for the OUAT Entrance Exam was August 14, 2025. The classes for the academic session 2025-26 began on September 15, 2025. The commencement date was changed from August 18, 2025, without mentioning any specific reason.

The Kashmiri Migrants/ Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in the Kashmir Valley are not required to appear in the OUAT PG Entrance Examination. Interested candidates must apply online; otherwise, admission is not allowed. The selection of these candidates will be made from a separate merit list prepared based on the highest OGPA/percentage of marks in Under Graduate programme. Without the OGPA/marks of qualifying examinations, the application will be invalid. In case of a tie, it will be resolved considering the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, followed by Class 12 science and 10th standard in that order.
The ICAR/Departmental candidates sponsored by State Govt./Foreign Candidates nominated by ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Examination. All other categories of candidates including ICAR Fellowship holders are required to appear at the Entrance Examination.
To get admission into B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science, combinations of either P.C.M or P.C.B in Class 12 Science or equivalent are mandatory.

- To register for OUAT counselling, first go to the OUAT official website and log in through the Student Login page to start the admission process.
- After logging in, fill in and submit Form B online.
- Form B is very important because without it, you cannot get a seat.
- Next, pay the OUAT counselling fee online. This fee cannot be refunded.
- Then choose your course and college preferences and lock your choices before the last date.
- After this, download your Intimation-cum-Rank Card and seat allotment letter.
- Finally, go to the given Nodal Centre for document verification and complete the admission process.

To appear in the online entrance examination (CBT mode), the candidate must have the admit card and original ID proof. For admission, the candidate must appear entrance examination and submit Form B. Even if a candidate appears in the entrance examination, but does not submit Form B, the rank will not be generated and the candidate will not be eligible for admission.
The application form of OUAT 2026 will be released along with the release of the notification, tentatively in the third week of March.
