JEE Advanced 2016 Result Analysis

IIT Guwahati conducted on JEE Advanced 2016 on May 22 for admissions to B.Tech programmes offered by the premier IITs across in India. This year, 155948  candidates registered for the exam. However, only 147678 appeared for JEE Advanced 2016 and out of these, 36566 qualified for the exam. Of the total number who registered for the exam, 125928 were male candidates while the other 30020 were female candidates.

In 2016, Aman Bansal from Jaipur secured an All India Rank (AIR) 1 in JEE Advanced 2016. The second and third places have been bagged by Bhavesh Dhingra(AIR 2)  from Yamuna Nagar and Kunal Goyal from Jaipur(AIR 3)respectively.

Besides JEE Advanced 2016 results, the revised IIT qualifying marks & criteria for the exam too were released. Subsequently, JEE Advanced 2016 category wise seat matrix for the academic year 2016-2017 too got declared. In total, there are 10, 575 seats on offer for B.Tech programmes in IITs across the country.

Candidates should ideally try to solve at least 3 previous year JEE question papers per week. However, candidates can also increase the frequency of this to 5 to 6 papers per week, one month before the exam.

  • Candidates should have JEE Advanced rank.
  • Candidates must have at least 75% aggregate marks in class 12 and SC, ST and PWD candidates must have atleast 65% marks.
  • Candidates must be within the category wise top 25 percentile of successful candidates of their respective class 12 boards.

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission

In 2025, the number of male candidates who passed JEE Advanced were 44,974 and 9,404 females qualified.
