JEE Main Chemistry 2026 Paper Analysis and Difficulty Level: Candidates can soon check here shift wise JEE Mains 2026 Chemistry paper analysis and difficulty level. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted JEE Main Session 2 exam 2026 on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. In each paper, they will have to attempt JEE Mains Chemistry section. Level of JEE Main Chemistry topics will be similar to 11th and 12th class qualifying exam. Through JEE Mains paper analysis 2026, candidates can check details on difficulty level of Chemistry section. Based on paper difficulty level and analysis, they will able to assess their performance in JEE Mains exam or prepare for future shifts.

NTA JEE UPDATES: JEE Mains 2026 April 6 Analysis & Question Papers

JEE Main 2026 Chemistry section will consist of 25 questions. Out of total, 20 will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 5 will be Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. NTA will release official JEE Mains 2026 answer key online. Using answer key, they can calculate their scores obtained in exam before JEE Mains 2026 result is announced.

Q:   What are the qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026?

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results. 

Q:   How to crack JEE Mains in first attempt?
A: 

Clearing the JEE Main exam in first attempt is not a difficult task. Several students clear JEE Main while in class 12. One thing that makes it easy to clear JEE Main with class 12 is that students are in regular touch of most JEE syllabus. To score good marks in JEE Main in the first attempt, it is advised that you study class 11 and 12 topics thoroughly, clear all the concepts and solve mock test papers. Also, NCERT books which you study in class 11 and 12 are the best books for JEE Main preparation. Students must study NCERT properly and solve all the questions in the book and do not memorize the concepts as some students do rather understand the concepts.

Q:   Is 70 a good score in JEE Mains?
A: 

A score of 70 marks in JEE Mains is considered average to below-average for General category students. This corresponds to a percentile around 88 to 91.

Q:   How to prepare for JEE Main from Class 11th and 12th?
A: 
Starting the JEE Main preparation from class 11 or 12 is the best time. As JEE Main syllabus consists of topics from class 11 and 12, students can easily cover all the topics along with school. Students can begin by checking the topics that is covered in both school and JEE Main and give special attention to them. For all three subjects, study NCERT and also take help from reference books. Understand the concepts thoroughly and solve numerical problems. To crack JEE Main along with class 12, students should devote at least 2-3 hours for JEE beside class 12 studies. Regularly solve JEE Main mock test and solve previous year question papers to evaluate the performance.

JEE Main 28 January Shift 2 Paper Analysis and Difficulty Level

According to students who attempted JEE Main 28 Jan Shift 2 paper, Chemistry section was moderate to tough. There were many questions from Organic Chemistry section. Students found questions to be lengthy and time consuming.

Students found JEE Main Jan 28 Shift 1 Chemistry paper was moderately difficulty. Overall, section had lengthy questions. Most questions were from Organic and Physical Chemistry. Students also found more statement based questions.

JEE Main 24 January Shift 2 Paper Analysis and Difficulty Level

Students who appeared for JEE Main 2026 Jan 24 Shift 2 paper found Chemistry moderate with many lenghty questions. Many students had problems completing the questions. There were equal questions from Organic and Inorganic. Students also mentioned that Physical Chemisty questions were lengthy.

According to students who appeared for JEE Main January 24 Shift 1 paper, Chemistry was moderate and lengthy. More weightage was given to Organic Chemistry and there were statement based questions. Students took time to complete this section.

JEE Main 23 January Shift 2 Paper Analysis and Difficulty Level

Students found JEE Main Jan 23 Shift 2 Chemistry paper moderate. Similar to Shift 1, paper was lengthy. There were more statement based questions. Organic Chemistry had higher weightage. Physical Chemistry questions were time consuming.

JEE Main 23 January Shift 1 Paper Analysis and Difficulty Level

As per students who attempted JEE Mains 23 Jan Shift 1 paper, Chemistry was moderate. However, questions were lengthy. Many questions had mixed concepts. Overall, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry had equal weightage. Question paper was balanced.

JEE Main 22 January Shift 2 Paper Analysis and Difficulty Level

JEE Main January 22 Shift 2 question paper analysis is now out. Students found Chemistry section moderate but lengthy. Physical Chemistry questions were lengthy and were numerical based. Organic Chemistry had higher weightage. Most questions were from NCERT syllabus. There were no out of syllabus questions.

According to students, JEE Main January 22 Shift 1 Chemistry paper was moderate in difficulty. Chemistry was largely NCERT based. There were more questions from Organic Chemistry. There were also enough questions from Inorganic Chemistry

Accordin to JEE Main 21 Jan Chemistry paper analysis, Shift 2 was easy to moderate. Candidates found JEE Main Chemistry questions in January 21 shift 2 paper easy and doable. Most questions were from Organic portion in NCERT. There were more questions from Inorganic Chemistry.

As per JEE Main Shift 1 January 21 Chemistry paper analysis, candidates found section easy to moderate. It was a bit more lengthier than usual. Out of all, there were more questions from General Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. Some questions had more than four statements, which candidates found difficult. Out of all sections, JEE Main Chemistry was easiest.

Q:   Is one month sufficient for JEE Main preparation?

One month is not sufficient for JEE Main preparation if a student has not started preparing or have not studied earlier for the exam. As the syllabus of JEE Main is vast, studying all the topics and remembering them take a lot of effort. However, class 12 student can get a decent score in JEE Main if time after the bard exam is devoted exclusively for the JEE preparation. Since most topics of JEE Main and class 12 are similar, students need to revise all the topics and solve previous year JEE Main question papers. Start solving JEE Main mock test papers at last 3-4 days before the exam to make yourself comfortable with the exam.
Q:   How to check JoSAA opening and closing rank?

Candidates can check JoSAA opening and closing ranks on the official website. They have to enter the details asked to check the list of courses and colleges based on the OR and CR of each counselling round.

Q:   How should I prepare for JEE Mains and Advanced together?
A: 
Students can prepare for both Mains and Advanced together but it is not a wise idea to prepare together as both exams have different syllabus, exam pattern and difficulty level. The difficulty level of JEE Advanced exam is much higher than JEE Mains. If preparing together for both the exams, make a list of topics that are asked in JEE Main as well as Advanced. Solve questions from these topics from NCERT as well as additional books. For JEE Mains, students can stick to NCERT but for JEE Advanced students need to take help from books like HC Verma.
Q:   What is the difficulty level of JEE Main?

JEE Main difficulty level is similar to class 12 board exams. Syllabus of JEE Main is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. The questions asked in exam are tricky and need an in-depth understanding of subjects. They need to have conceptual understanding of every topic to score well in exam. Those who study NCERT can get a decent score in JEE Mains.

No, interview round for BSc admission at BIT Mesra is part of BITCHEM which is not required for candidates who are open to pusuing BSc at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. Candidates who apply through JEE Main will not be required to appear in BITCHEM.

Candidates wishing to take admission in BTech at IIIT Bhagalpur have to appear in JEE Main. Along with that, candidates also have to participate in JOSAA/ CSAB counselling process. Seat allocation is done when candidates clear cutoff ranks released on the official JoSAA website.

Candidates wishing to take admission in BTech at Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management have to appear in JEE Main, JEE Advanced, CUET-UG, SAT, KCET, COMEDK. So, yes even if you have not appeared in JEE, you can produce score card of any of the above mentioned exams.

The East Point Group of Institutions accepts many exams for the BE course. The accepted exams are JEE Main, COMEDK, and KCET. Students can appear in any of these exams to get admission at EPGI. Students need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as well.

With 57.8 percentile in JEE Main and 73% boards, getting CSE/AI in top government colleges is unlikely. But you still have good chances in private colleges through UPTAC/AKTU or direct admission.

With a JEE Main rank of 291970, you can get into NIT Calicut if you belong to the SC Home State quota category.
