UPESEAT Counselling 2026: Check Dates, Fees & Procedure

The counselling process for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at UPES Dehradun is conducted entirely in online mode. Candidates are shortlisted for counselling based on their performance in UPESEAT / JEE Main / CUET or qualifying exam. The counselling process is explained in detail here.

Counselling Registration and Choice Filling

Shortlisted candidates have to register for counselling. During registration, applicants are required to provide basic details and their course preferences. It is important to carefully choose preferences, as seat allotment is done based on rank, preferences filled and seat availability.

Seat Allotment

The authority will announce the UPESEAT seat allotment after each round of counselling. The allotment of seat will be done as per the candidate merit in the exam and the choices filled. To confirm their admission, candidates have to pay the counselling fee.

Verification of Documents

Students then have to upload their documents for verification. Candidates who are found ineligible will not be given admission. Candidates who complete verification and fee payment will be admitted to the University.

All candidates must complete the fee payment process once they have been allocated a seat by the official authorities. If a candidate fails to complete the fee payment then his admission will be forfeited and will be passed on to the next candidate. What after UPESEAT Seat Allotment?

Candidates can check if they have been allocated a seat or not by logging in to their profile on the official admission portal. 

Step 1: Pay the designated amount of fee for confirmation of a seat on the payment portal.

Step 2: Upload all the required documents in the correct format.

Step 3: The documents will later be verified, and Provisional Offer Letters for Admission will be released on the basis of this.

Step 4: After this, all candidates will be eligible to download their provisional offer letters from their profiles.

The exam-conducting authority may release the UPESEAT 2026 cutoff after the conclusion of the UPESEAT counselling. The UPESEAT cutoff is based on the candidate's rank in the exam. The cutoff will specifiy the last rank at which admission is made to a particular course. Candidates will be able to check the UPESEAT 2026 cutoff on this page if it is officially released by the authorities. 

Candidates should carry all the required documents for verification at the time of UPES counselling. The candidature of all the candidates who fail to clear the document verification process will be canceled. Candidates should carry a set of photocopies of all the documents to submit to the admission authorities. The list of documents required for UPESEAT 2026 counselling is available below: 

• UPESEAT 20265 counselling call letter. 
• Admit card of the qualifying exam. 
• UPESEAT result or scorecard of the qualifying exam. 
• Educational Certificates.
• Recent passport size photograph (four). 
• Caste category certificate (if applicable). 
• Domicile certificate (if applicable). 
• A Demand Draft drawn in favor of ‘UPES Fee Account’ payable at Dehradun as the first-semester fee.
