What is AP ECET Exam?
Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET) is conducted annually by JNTU, Anantapur on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The exam is conducted to select Diploma holders of Engineering Technology/ Pharmacy and BSc Graduates for admissions under the lateral entry scheme to the 2nd year of BE/ BTech/ BPharmacy Programmes offered at Universities and AICTE/PCI approved Institutions in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education released AP ECET admit card 2026 online on its official website. Candidates who have registered for the exam can download AP ECET 2026 hall ticket. To download admit card, students need to provide their qualifying exam hall ticket number and date of birth.
Candidates must carry their AP ECET 2026 admit card to the exam centre as a valid proof. The authority will release a preliminary AP ECET answer key followed by a final answer key. Moreover, students will be allowed to raise objections to the preliminary answer key of AP ECET. After reviewing all the objections, the exam authority will release the AP ECET final answer key along with the results. No objections against the AP ECET final answer key will be accepted.

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education closed AP ECET application form. Applicants had to fill AP ECET 2026 application form at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/ECET. During the application process, candidates are required to upload their scanned documents and select their choice of exam centres in order of preference. AP ECET Eligibility Criteria
General eligibility criteria to appear for AP ECET :
- The candidate should be an Indian.
- The candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh.
- Should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
- The candidates should possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent to that for admission into the relevant BE/ BTech/ BPharmacy courses into the Courses corresponding to the Diplomas.
- They should have passed the 3-year BSc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses.
- The candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant BE/BTech/BPharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training prescribed for the award of diploma course before admission into the college.
- The candidates should have passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ BSc Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.
Eligibility for Lateral Entry Admission into BE/BTech/BPharm
- The candidates should have appeared and qualified AP ECET.
- Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.
- Admission offered against 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be unreserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
- The admissions offered under the lateral entry scheme in the case of Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-minority) are 20% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course. In the case of University Colleges, the lateral entry seats are 10% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course.
- While filling up the lateral entry seats based on the AP ECET ranks, BSc(Mathematics) stream students will be considered for admission only after exhausting all the qualified diploma holders.

There are four sections in the Andhra Pradesh ECET paper- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering paper.
