JEE Main April 2019 Paper 1 Analysis, Expected Cutoff & Student Reaction is now available. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the exam on April 8, 9, 10 and 12 in two slots per day. While the first slot is being held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, the second slot will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The exam for JEE Main April 2019 Paper 2 for BArch admissions concluded on April 7.

Overall, JEE Main April 2019 paper was of Easy to Moderate level. More emphasis was, however, given to NCERT. As compared to the January session, the paper was almost of a similar level. Physics was relatively tougher.

In 2018, JEE Main cutoff for Paper 1 stood at 74 for general category students. JEE Main cutoff for OBC, SC,ST and Pwd candidates were 45,29,24 and -35 respectively.
According to Ashish Sharma, an ex-faculty from FIITJEE and Brilliant Tutorials, JEE Main cutoff for 2019 will be higher this year. He shared that the exam cutoff in 2019 may be around 80 for general, and similarly, slightly higher for others also. In comparison with last year, here’s JEE Main 2019 expected cutoff shared by various experts.

Shiksha spoke to various candidates for their review on JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 for BTech candidates. Like 2018, most of the candidates shared that of all the three sections of the exam - Mathematics was the toughest. According to JEE aspirants, Paper 1 of JEE Main 2019 was easier as compared to the exam in 2018. Read JEE Main 2019 student reactions' and review below.
Syed Haider Ali from Bal Bharti School Noida appeared for Paper 1 of JEE Main 2019 and mentioned difficulty level of the paper as:

Speaking about NTA conducting JEE Main 2019 twice, Haider shared, “NTA conducting JEE Main twice a year has its own pros and cons. When you talk about the pros, candidates can appear for JEE Main 2019 to get an idea about the exam and their year won’t be wasted if they could not crack JEE Main this time. They still have a chance to appear in April session. However, the downside is that since students will be appearing for Class 12th Board exams, their boards exam preparation is being affected by this”.
Another test taker Daksh Sharma from DPS Greater Noida, who appeared for JEE Main 2019 paper 1 in the first slot, shared the following review of the exam.

As Physics is a tough subject for him, for that reason he found this section on more on higher side of difficulty level. He added that test taker need to learn formulae as well as its applications to crack Physics section of JEE Main 2019 Paper 1. |

He expected Chemistry section of JEE Main 2019 paper 1 to be tough however, it turned out to be easiest of all. He added that any test taker will score well in this section even with little preparation and revisions from Class 11 Chemistry syllabus. |

The difficulty level of Mathematics section of JEE Main 2019 depended upon preparedness of the test takers i.e. if they had practiced solving Maths questions well enough then they would’ve found this section easy. |
Rishabh who appeared for JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 for January session, also took the exam last year. According to him, the Physics section was slightly difficult, Chemistry was easy while Mathematics was of moderate difficulty level. He further added that, NTA conducted JEE Main 2019 in a better way as compared to CBSE, who conducted the exam till 2018. The exam was held smoothly, without any technical difficulties. Rishabh is planning to appear for JEE Main 2019 in April session as well.

Devendra Singh Rana from Nilgiri Hills Public School, Noida shared that Paper 1 of JEE Main 2019 was of average difficulty level. He further shared the following subject-wise analysis of the paper.

Commenting on the exam being conducted twice, Devendra shared that it is a great move by the agency for students to get familiar with the test in their first attempt. He shared, " Even if we don’t score well in their first attempt, we still have a second chance in April this year. He added that students would be able to strategize efficiently like time management for their second attempt in April session to crack JEE Main 2019.

No, JEE Main is not compulsory for Intellipaat School of Technology, Pune BTech admissions. The institute conducts an in-house test based on which seats are given. Aspirants have to appear for the ISTEE to get admission in the institute.

Yes, MITS Deemed to be University accepts valid score in JEE (Main) for admission in its BTech programme. Students can also choose take the MITSUCET instead which is conducted by the university for BTech admission.
