- The exam started at 9.30am sharp and ended at 12.30pm
- Ball Pen (blue) was given at the centre
- Admit card + ID proof required at the entry gate
- No error or technical glitches reported

According to the feedback received by JEE Main 2019 candidates who appeared for the first slot of the exam conducted on January 9, the exam was of easy to moderate level. All chapters of each of the three subjects were given equal weightage.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 1, for BE/BTech aspirants, comprises a total of 90 questions. Each of the three sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – have 30 questions. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted. Un-attempted questions will receive no marks. The total marks of JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 is 360.
JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 for BArch/BPlan students was held on January 8, 2019 in two slots. While the first slot of the exam was held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, candidates had to appear for the second slot of JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Unlike last years, JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 will also be held in two slots – from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Once the exam concludes, FIITJEE will be releasing JEE Main Paper Analysis And Expected Cut Off.
JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 Analysis by FIITJEE - January 10
JEE Main 2019 Paper I for those aspiring for BE / BTech was also held on January 10, 2019 (second day for JEE Main exam scheduled for 9th,10th 11th & 12thJan,2019). The reporting time for students was 7:30 am however the exam started at 9:30 am. Students were supposed to carry their Aadhaar card & Admit card for verification.
Reactions from students about JEE Main 2019 Paper – 1 for January 10 (Morning Session)
- There were no changes in the pattern of Paper -1 of JEE (Main) compared to previous years. Questions covered almost all chapters from the three subjects Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Equal weightage was given to chapters from class XI & XII.
- The paper had three parts : Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- All questions were of multiple choice with single correct answer objective type.

JEE Main 2019 Expected Cutoff
According to FIITJEE expert, Ramesh Batlish, JEE Main 2019 expected cutoff is 100-110. In 2018, the expected cut off for JEE Main Paper 1 was between 86 to 90 marks out of 360 for general category.

Yes, you can get admission in B.E. at Chitkara University without JEE (Mains) on the basis of Class 12 merit if you get minimum 70% aggregate in Class 12 or minimum 70% aggregate in PCM.

DY Patil Navi Mumbai considers JEE Main, MHT CET or SAT scores for admission in BTech course. Hence, JEE Main is not compulsory. Aspirants without any of these scores, can appear for entrance test conducted by DY Patil Navi Mumbai for admission in BTech.
