National Testing Agency (NTA) declared JEE Main 2021 result for the final session on September 15 on its official website. Among the students who have qualified for the engineering entrance examination, a total of 44 emerged as the JEE Main 2021 Toppers. Pravar Kataria from Delhi NCT has scored 100 percentile and bagged All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the exam with his hard work and determination. Pravar is elated about his JEE Main result 2021, but he is also focused on his upcoming JEE Advanced exam. Shiksha.com spoke to Pravar to know his success story. He was one of the JEE Main 2021 Toppers from the March session. He wants to build a successful career at IIT Bombay and pursue Computer Science Engineering.
Q. How are you feeling to receive JEE Main 2021 AIR 3? Was the JEE Main 2021 May Session your first attempt?
A. I had studied really hard for this JEE Main 2021 session. I was expecting to do well. I had told my parents that I would score well. What I had not expected was to get a 100 percentile. This was way over my expectations so yes, I am very excited. Unfortunately, this is not my first attempt. I had taken the exam back in March 2021 as well.

Q. What is the name of your School?
A. I studied at Pragati Public School Dwarka, New Delhi. It is a great school. It has taught me to be a good human being.
Q. Since when did you start studying for the JEE Main 2021 exam? How much time did you spend on JEE Main exam?
A. When I had decided to sit for the JEE Main, I knew that I would have to start preparing for it. I was in Class XI when I joined a coaching institute. In the beginning, all the coaching classes were held offline. But when the lockdown happened last year, the classes shifted online. My mentors really helped me a lot.
Q. Did you join any coaching institute? If yes, from which class?
A. I joined Akash Institute to prepare for the JEE Mains exam. It is always good to have proper guidance even if all the hard work has to be done by you. I started the coaching classes when I was in Class XI.
Q. What was your JEE Main preparation strategy? Which subject did you focus on more and why?
A. Each student has their strategy. There is no single formula to follow. One should do what he or she is comfortable with. However, one’s preparation has to be thorough. One can’t give this exam without being properly prepared. I studied from NCERT, I consulted study material given by the mentors. One can’t do selective studies. I gave equal importance to all the subjects.
Q. Which books did you refer to while preparing for the JEE Main 2021 exam?
A. There were NCERT books that I studied from. I also studied from the material provided and also studied from other books.

A. I want to pursue Computer Science in Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Q. What will be your message to future JEE aspirants?
A. Consistency is the key. Aspirants should not do selective study. Give equal weightage to all the subjects. It is advisable to not leave any topic from any subject. Listen to the lectures carefully; when in doubt ask questions. On the day of the exam, don’t be nervous. Keep a cool head and attempt all answer all the questions carefully.
