Yes, candidates who do not participate in the JoSAA counselling are eligible to participate in the CSAB counselling. Candidates must complete the CSAB counselling registration using JEE Main application number. After the registration process, the exam authorities will commence the document verification process.
The CSAB special counselling will start on July 28.
To participate in the JEE Main counselling, candidates will need to upload the following documents at the time of JoSAA registration. Class 10 mark sheet/certificate, Class 12 Certificate of category (if applicable), PwD Certificate (if applicable). After the seat allotment, while reporting to the institute, candidates will also need to submit documents like JoSAA seat allotment letter, JEE Main/Advanced admit card, Gap Certificate (if gap after class 12).
The age limit will be applicable as mentioned in JEE Main/JEE Advanced brochure and official website. There is no seperate age limit criteria prescribed for JoSAA counselling.
NTA JEE Main Session 1 Result Date: Stages of Result Announcement
JEE Mains result 2026 is prepared based on final answer key data, and will be announced on the given date. However, some sources have stated that the result will made live in evening of Feb 12 and final keys will be released in the early morning. However, NTA has not mentioned any official time. The stages involved in the process before releasing JEE Main result are as follows -
- NTA first releases JEE Mains session 1 provisional answer key and response sheet.
- Students were offered a chance to challenge against the official answer key of JEE Main 2026. The last date to challenge JEE Mains answer key was Feb 6 (11:50 pm).
- After the submission of objections, the authorities will review the responses, and announce the JEE Mains final answer key.
- Based on JEE Mains final answer key, the result will be declared on the given NTA JEE Main 2026 result date session 1, which is between Feb 16 (REVISED)

Candidates who do not score above JEE Main cutoff marks are eligible to take admissions in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs but not IITs. To appear in the admission process for IITs, candidates need to get marks above than the JEE Main cutoff and appear in JEE Advanced exam.

JEE Main counselling and seat allotment has many processes. Once seat is allotted to a candidate, you have option of Accept and Freeze, Accept and Float and Slide.
