- Go to the Official Site: Go to the official JEE Mains 2026 website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Find the Link: Access the candidate login and look for the "Forgot Application Number" link.
Forgot JEE Main 2026 application number
- Enter Your Details: On the next window, enter the following details:
- Candidate Name
- Father Name
- Mother Name
- Date of Birth
- CAPTCHA as shown on login screen
- Submit: Click the submit button.
- Receive Your Number: Your application number will be displayed on the screen and sent to your registered email address and mobile number.

| What If You Don’t Receive the Application Number? If you do not receive the application number even after some time, do not worry. This can happen due to network issues or incorrect contact details. In such cases, you should immediately contact the NTA Helpdesk through email or phone. They will guide you and help you recover your application number. |
If candidates are facing issue in live photo capture, it can be due to mismatch from photo uploaded in Aadhar. For this, they need to visit the Aadhar update centre and get their current photo updated in the Aadhaar database.
The issue can also be due to any servor error/slow internet connectivity for which candidates can try uploading it after some time. Also, there can be a case of laptop/computer not supporting the webcame, for this, candidates can upload the photo using QR code provided in the application process.

No, candidates can not upload black & white photograph in JEE Mains application form.
Also, the photograph should be clear with white background. The candidates are allowed to have spectacles in the photograph but sunglasses and caps are not allowed.
