Shiksha launched JEE Main college predictor tool in the year to help students predict the college and branch they can expect to secure admissions in on the basis of their JEE Main scores/ranks.
Earlier, we had spoken about how to find college and branch that will be offered to you on the basis of your JEE Main rank/predicted rank. In this article, we will be offering step-by-step guidance on how to find the closing ranks for engineering branches of your choice by using the JEE Main cut-off predictor.
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
Step 1: Select Preferred Colleges
First of all, you will have to select the college in which you want to seek admission on the basis of your JEE Main score. A point to be noted here is that you can select multiple colleges in this field. This drop-down list consists of the names of all the NITs, BITs and other private as well as government funded institutes that offer admissions to students on the basis of their JEE Main scores. You can even search for the college of your choice by typing their name in the search bar that opens right at the top of the field that appears on clicking the box right next to “Select Preferred Colleges”.
In the next field, you have to select the category to which you belong. Here, also a drop down opens up from which aspirants need to select the category which they filled in their JEE Main application form. The categories mentioned in the drop-down include – general, general-physically disabled (general-PD), other backward classes (OBC), other backward classes physically disabled (OBC-PD), schedule caste (SC), schedule caste physically disabled (SC-PD), schedule tribe (ST) and schedule tribe physically disabled (ST-PD).
Further, you are given an option to select from whether you want to avail state quota or not. So, if you do not want to avail the benefits of state quota then you can select the option stating “No”. However, if you wish to avail the benefits of state quota then you can select “Yes” in the drop-down box. If you select the option stating – Yes, then immediately another field opens in the college predictor tool in which you will have to select the state wherein you want to seek state quota.
In the final step of this tool, you have to select the counselling round in which you want to know the branch that will be offered to in the desired college/colleges selected by you above. Find out how to find college for a branch in JEE Main College Predictor tool.
The counselling rounds from which you can select are – Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Spot Round and Extra Spot Round. Apart from these options, you also can also choose the text option stating “Counselling Round – All”. If this option is selected then the search results will show the closing ranks for branches offered at your desired colleges in all the counselling rounds.
Candidates are further informed that only government institutes such as NITs, IIITs and CFTIs can take part in the first three rounds of counselling. However, private colleges that fall in the list of SFTIs mentioned in the JEE Main brochure can take part only in the spot and extra spot rounds.
If you wish to see more than 15 results then you can click on the “load more results” option present right at the bottom of the list.
Use JEE Main branch predictor to know which college you will be offered for the branch of your choice.
Apart from the above mentioned features, you can also compare different colleges on the college predictor tool of Shiksha. A point to note here is that you can compare a maximum of four colleges at one time in this new feature. Here you will be provided information about the location, year of establishment, name of course offered, alumni rating, course duration, mode of study, affiliations, top recruiting companies, UGC recognition, fee, eligibility, hostel, transport facility, etc.
Find out your rank in JEE exam by using Shiksha's JEE Main rank predictor tool.
You can even store the information about branches and closing ranks offered in this tool by taking a print out of the results or by emailing the findings on your email ID. You are also provided with an option to invite your batchmates/friends to try out this tool and predict the engineering branches they can aspire to secure at the college of their choice.
