NTA (National Testing Agency) will commence with JEE Main 2020 registrations for January exam from September 2019. JEE Main application form will be available on the official websites of both NTA and JEE Main. Aspirants will have to fill the online application form and make the payment of application fee. Only those candidates who complete the JEE Main registration process will be issued with the admit card.
JEE Main 2020 will be conducted in two sessions – January and April. While the registrations for January session will commence from September, NTA will release JEE Main 2020 application form for April session in February 2020.

Eligibility to apply for JEE Main 2020
It is important for candidates to check the eligibility norms carefully before filling JEE Main 2020 application form. Take a look at the following eligibility criteria for JEE Main.
- Candidates should have completed their +2 education from a recoganised board/PUC (Pre University College) with 75% (65% for reserved category candidates) marks in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology) stream
- Candidates who passed +2 in year 2018, 2019 or appearing/ will be appearing in 2020 are also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2020
- Candidates can appear for JEE Main for 3 consecutive years irrespective of session attempts as two attempts in a year will be considered as one

JEE Main 2020 Registration Process
JEE Main registration is a four-step online process which includes registering on the official website, filling the online application form, uploading the required documents and making the payment of application fee.
Candidates should note that the steps to apply for JEE Main is different for candidates appearing in single or both the sessions. Fresh candidates will have to follow all the four steps of JEE Main 2020 registration while candidates who appeared in the first session will not have to register and upload documents again. But, they will have to fill the application form and make the payment of JEE Main application fee. Take a look at the below steps to register for JEE Main 2020.
Step 1: Register for JEE Main 2020
At this step of JEE Main registration, fresh candidates will have to register on the exam’s official website. Already registered candidates can login using their previously registered credentials and continue filling the application form. Follow the below steps to register:
- Visit the official website of JEE Main
- Click on “Candidate Registration”
- Enter your name, date of birth, email id and phone number
- Click on generate OTP
- Enter the OTP as sent on your mobile number
- Verify the same to complete JEE Main 2020 registration
Step 2: Fill JEE Main 2020 Application form
After completing the registration process, candidates will receive an email containing the user id and password to login. Candidates can use these credentials to login on the official website. Once logged in, candidates can begin filling the online application form for JEE Main.
Once the dully filled JEE Main application form is submitted, an application number is displayed on the screen. Candidates will have to note the JEE Main application number for future reference.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
At this step, candidates will have to upload the scanned copies of required eligibility and category documents, passport size photograph and signature. Already registered can skip this step.
Step 4: Pay JEE Main 2020 Application Fee
Candidates can pay the application fee for JEE Main in online mode or through e-challan.

JEE Main 2020 Registrations: Supporting Documents
Candidates will be required to upload the scanned copies of the following documents.
- Passport Size photograph and signature: The images should be of high quality and match your present appearance. The files must be in JPEG format and a standard size of 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm.
- Eligibility Documents: Candidates will have to upload the scanned copies of the degree/ certificate of the qualifying exam that is listed in the JEE Main eligibility norms. In case of candidates in their final year, they will have to obtain a certificate from the HOD and upload its scanned copy as a proof
- Photo ID Proofs: Government issued documents like Voter ID or passport can be used as a valid photo ID proof
- Adhaar Card: Along with government ID candidates will also have to upload a scanned copy of adhaard card
