GATE Counselling Dates (Round-Wise)
The counselling for GATE 2026 have started. However, students must note that IIT Guwahati is not responsible for conducting GATE counselling. The admission counselling is conducted by two portals- CCMT and COAP on rotational basis.
The COAP is used for IIT and IISc admission, while CCMT for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs counselling. Since the GATE scorecard is valid for three years, therefore, candidates with valid GATE scorecard of 2026, 2025, and 2024 are eligible for the counselling.
- COAP dates have been announced. IIT Roorkee is conducting COAP counselling this year. Common Offer Acceptance Portal is used for admission to IITs and IISc.
- The CCMT 2026 website is now launched. The CCMT counselling is used to provide admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The dates have been announced.

To download they have to pay INR 500 using netbaking/credit/debit card. The scorecard is available at GOAPS portal and credentials include enrolment ID and password. GATE scorecard is valid for three years from the publication date of result.
GATE 2026 Result Date
The GATE result was announced on March 19. Candidates can check their GATE results 2026 on the GOAPS portal by providing their enrollment ID and password. The authorities will also soon publish the cutoff mark for all branches. Candidates can refer to GATE qualifying exam marks for expected cutoff this year. After GATE result date 2026, the officials will release topper's list.
GATE Answer Key 2026 Release Date
IIT Guwahati released GATE 2026 final answer key aong with response sheet on Feb 22. The answer key challenge was provided to students from Feb 25 to 28. Students had to match their esponses with GATE 2026 answer key and challenge any question for a fee. However, the GATE response sheet was not for challenge.

The GATE counselling process starts after the announcement of results. The GATE counselling is conducted by COAP and CCMT. The COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) is the counselling portal that offers admission to IITs.
While CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech/M.Arch/M.Plan) is the counselling portal that offers admission to NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs.
