Overview

GATE 2026 Date OUT: Candidates can check Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering counselling dates for CCMT and COAP. The result have been announced on official website. Also, scorecard is available at GOAPS. Candidates can download their scorecad using their enrollment ID and password. As of now, COAP 2026 round-wise counselling are ongoing, and CCMT counselling has also started. 

In addition, COAP 2026 counselling dates for all rounds have been released. Scorecard is available for download till December 31 by paying a fee of INR 500. Candidates who have qualified GATE are eligible to participate in GATE counselling 2026 process. Check below for more.

GATE Counselling Dates (Round-Wise)

The counselling for GATE 2026 have started. However, students must note that IIT Guwahati is not responsible for conducting GATE counselling. The admission counselling is conducted by two portals- CCMT and COAP on rotational basis.

The COAP is used for IIT and IISc admission, while CCMT for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs counselling. Since the GATE scorecard is valid for three years, therefore, candidates with valid GATE scorecard of 2026, 2025, and 2024 are eligible for the counselling. 

  • COAP dates have been announced. IIT Roorkee is conducting COAP counselling this year. Common Offer Acceptance Portal is used for admission to IITs and IISc.
  • The CCMT 2026 website is now launched. The CCMT counselling is used to provide admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The dates have been announced.

Candidates who have applied for GATE 2026 must check event datesheet so they don't miss out on any dates. IIT Guwahati has released GATE 2026 exam dates along with branch-wise schedule at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Q:   When will GATE CCMT counselling start?
A: 

GATE CCMT counselling is expected to start in June/July. Students who have qualified in GATE exam 2026 and want to take admission in NITs and other engineering colleges must register and participate in CCMT. The dates will be updated here for each round.

Q:   When will GATE COAP counselling dates be released?
A: 

GATE 2026 COAP counselling dates can be checked now. Candidates who want to apply for IITs must register at COAP. The round-wise dates are available.

GATE 2026 Scorecard Release Date

IIT Guwahati have issued GATE 2026 scorecard for qualified candidates. The deadline to download for free is now closed. Candidates can now download their result scorecard till December 31. To download they have to pay INR 500 using netbaking/credit/debit card. The scorecard is available at GOAPS portal and credentials include enrolment ID and password. GATE scorecard is valid for three years from the publication date of result.

GATE 2026 Result Date

The GATE result was announced on March 19. Candidates can check their GATE results 2026 on the GOAPS portal by providing their enrollment ID and password. The authorities will also soon publish the cutoff mark for all branches. Candidates can refer to GATE qualifying exam marks for expected cutoff this year. After GATE result date 2026, the officials will release topper's list.

GATE Answer Key 2026 Release Date

IIT Guwahati released GATE 2026 final answer key aong with response sheet on Feb 22. The answer key challenge was provided to students from Feb 25 to 28. Students had to match their esponses with GATE 2026 answer key and challenge any question for a fee. However, the GATE response sheet was not for challenge.

GATE 2026 Application Form Correction Date

GATE correction facility was available till November 10, where aspirants were able to edit their personal and other details, such as category, name, educational qualification details, etc. Candidates can access the GATE application form correction window at the GOAPS portal using their enrollment ID and password. The conducting body had activated GOAPS for defect rectification process for provisional candidates. The last date to make changes in the application form was March 15.

Q:   When will GATE 2026 counselling process start?
A: 

The GATE counselling process starts after the announcement of results. The GATE counselling is conducted by COAP and CCMT. The COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) is the counselling portal that offers admission to IITs. 

While CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech/M.Arch/M.Plan) is the counselling portal that offers admission to NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. 

COAP and CCMT 2026 counselling dates are now available for all rounds.

Q:   When will IIT Guwahati start the GATE 2026 registration process?

IIT Guwahati has started the GATE 2026 registration process on August 28. The application form facility is open at the GOAPS portal. The deadline has been revised. As per the latest update, candidates who want to apply for GATE can check the dates and submit as per their convenience. The last date to submit the application form without late fees is October 6 (revised) and till October 9 with late fees. 

Q:   What is the last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees?

The last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees was October 13. For submission with late fees, the application form window  remained active from October 7 to October 13. The registration fee with late fees is as follows -

  • For female/SC/ST and PwD candidates, the fee is INR 1500
  • For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2500

Yes, but within the timeline mentioned by the GATE authorities. IIT Guwahati has started the registration process for GATE 2026. The authorities provide two timelines to submit the application form: with late fees and without late fees. So, incase, you have missed out the date to submit, you can still submit the form during the extended period. Candidates can check the GATE 2026 datesheet below -

For the OBC AI category, the NIT Agartala M.Tech cutoff 2026 ranged from 321 to 488 in the first round.
