GATE 2026 result: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has announced the GATE result 2026 dates on its official website. The GATE exam result 2026 will be released on March 19. Candidates who have appeared for the GATE 2026 exam can check their results at the GOAPS portal. Students can check their results using their enrollment ID and password.
After the declaration of the results, candidates will be able to download their GATE 2026 scorecard from the GOAPS portal. The GATE scorecard is valid for three years from the date of the result announcement. Candidates can use the GATE 2026 scorecard for MTech admissions, research programmes, and PSU recruitment.
The GATE exam conducting authority declares the GATE result based on the candidates' performance in the exam. GATE scores are obtained by evaluating the answers and determining the candidates' raw marks. How to calculate GATE Score?
The exam authority will calculate the GATE score by considering the raw marks secured by candidates in GATE 2026 result. The raw marks or actual marks will be allotted to the candidates after evaluating the answers. The GATE score for the multi-session exam will be calculated by converting the raw marks into the normalized marks for that particular subject. The raw marks will be used for calculating the GATE score based on the qualifying marks.

GATE normalization will be done for the exams conducted in multiple sessions. It considers the variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across multiple sessions. The GATE normalisation formula is available below.
What to do after GATE Result 2026?
After the declaration of the GATE result 2026, the scorecard will be available for the qualified candidates. Then, successful candidates will go for either admission to MTech programs or PSU recruitment through GATE. GATE 2026 counselling will be conducted by COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) for admission to IITs, and CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech for admission to MTech programs offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. The cutoff is the minimum mark the candidate must obtain to pass the exam. GATE cut-off marks for IIT, NIT, IIIT, etc., vary from stream to stream.

As such, the GATE authorities have not mentioned anything regarding the black and white or colour printout of the GATE admit card to be carried or not. But it is better to carry a colour printout of the hall ticket to the exam centre Also, the admit card of GATE must be in A4 size format.
