Calculation of the score: JKCET scores are calculated based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance exam. The marking scheme of the exam is used to calculate the scores of the candidates. 

• Candidates get 1 mark for each correct answer.
• 0.25 marks is deducted for any wrong attempt.

Based on the marks of the candidates in the entrance test, the JKCET merit list is drawn.

Preparation of the merit list: The Board shall prepare a list in order of inter-se merit of candidates in JKCET in descending order of the scores obtained by the candidates. In this way merit list will be prepared for the open merit category and similarly for each reserved category separately. In case two or more candidates have obtained the same number of marks in the entrance test, the merit of such candidates shall be determined by the method of tie-breaking. The merit list is used to allot seats in different participating colleges via the JKCET counselling process.

The minimum marks to qualify in the JKCET 2025 exam is 10. A candidate having scored less than 10 marks on the entrance test shall not be considered for admission.

 Candidates will be able to access the result of JKCET 2025 by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official website.
• Click on the result link.
• Candidates will have to provide their JKCET application number & password.
• Click on 'Submit'.
• JKCET 2025 results will appear on the screen in PDF format.
• The result has to be downloaded and printed for future use. 

In case two or more candidates have obtained the same number of marks in the entrance test, the merit of such candidates shall be determined by taking into account:

1. Marks obtained in the Mathematics component of the Entrance test.
2. Marks obtained in Physics component of the Entrance test, if marks obtained in Mathematics components are equal;
3. Marks obtained in Chemistry component of the Entrance test, if marks obtained in Mathematics and Physics components are equal;
4. Candidate older in age, if marks obtained in Math, Physics and Chemistry are same.
5. For further tie, the first Alphabet of the candidate’s name will be considered.

The candidates who qualify in JKCET can submit the online/offline preference forms for JKCET counselling. The online/offline preference form enables a candidate to fill in the preferences for various disciplines/institutions for allotment of seats for admission in BE/BTech Engineering courses in the government and private colleges of the UT of J&K/Ladakh. JKCET counselling will have 2 rounds and one mop-up round. A final, special counselling round can be held if needed.
