JKCET 2026 Result: Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) will declare the JKCET result 2026 on the website- jkbopee.gov.in. Candidates will be be provided the link to check result on this page. The Board prepares a list in order of inter-se merit of candidates in the JKCET in descending order for the open merit category and similarly for each reserved category separately. The candidates who are declared qualified in the JKCET exam have to then appear in the online JKCET 2026 counselling process. Once result is declared, candidates will be provided link to check scorecard here. The result will be in the form of rank list mentioning the name of candidates qualified for the counselling cum admission process.

Q:   Where can I check the JKCET result?

Candidates can check the JKCET result on the official website, jkbopee.gov.in. The candidates who are declared qualified in the JKCET exam, have to then appear in the online counselling process. 

Q:   When will the JKCET result release?
A: 

JKCET 2026 result will be announced in April 2026. After the result is released, the JKCET merit list will be prepared on the inter-se merit acquired by students in the exam (in descending order for Open Merit Category and for each Reserved Category, separately). Qualified candidates will be able to participate in the counselling process.

How is the JKCET Result Prepared?

JKCET scores are calculated based on performance of candidates in entrance exam. Marking scheme of exam is used to calculate scores of candidates. The official marking scheme is

  • Candidates get 1 mark for each correct answer.
  • 0.25 marks is deducted for any wrong attempt.

Based on the marks of candidates in entrance test, the JKCET merit list is drawn. The Board prepares a list in order of inter-se merit of candidates in JKCET in descending order of the scores obtained by candidates. Separate merit list is prepared for open merit category and reserved categories.

In case two or more candidates have obtained same number of marks in entrance test, merit of such candidates shall be determined by the method of tie-breaking. Merit list is used to allot seats in different participating colleges via JKCET counselling process.

Q:   Can I request for re-totaling of marks in JKCET?
A: 

Yes. Candidates who wish to go for re-totalling of marks can proceed with it by paying INR 1000/- per subject at POS Machine in BOPEE Office at Jammu / Srinagar. BOPEE will accept the written request along with the payment receipt within 3 days, after the declaration of the JKCET result.

Q:   What if the JKCET exam is cancelled?
A: 

In case JKCET is not held, the merit list shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (12th class). The candidates who are declared qualified in the JKCET exam, have to then appear in the online counselling process.

Tie Breaking to Prepare JKCET Merit List 2026

In case two or more candidates have obtained the same number of marks in the entrance test, the merit of such candidates is determined by taking into account- 

  1. Marks obtained in the Mathematics component of the Entrance test.
  2. Marks obtained in Physics component of the Entrance test, if marks obtained in Mathematics components are equal;
  3. Marks obtained in Chemistry component of the Entrance test, if marks obtained in Mathematics and Physics components are equal;
  4. Candidate older in age, if marks obtained in Math, Physics and Chemistry are same.
  5. For further tie, the first Alphabet of the candidate’s name will be considered.

After JKCET Result

The candidates who qualify in JKCET can submit the online/offline preference forms for JKCET counselling. The online/offline preference form enables a candidate to fill in the preferences for various disciplines/institutions for allotment of seats for admission in BE/BTech Engineering courses in the government and private colleges of the UT of J&K/Ladakh. JKCET counselling will have 2 rounds and one mop-up round. A final, special counselling round can be held if needed.

The schedule for JKCET 2026 counselling is not announced yet. The registration for counselling is expected to start in April/May post declaration of results. Candidates are advised to follow the Shiksha page and the JKCET official website for updates on the counselling schedule.

The allotment of seats in JKCET counselling will be basis the choices filled by the candidate and the rank. It is advised that candidates fill as many choices they can to increase their chances of getting a college. Also, the choices filled must be in order of preference.
