NSAT 2026 Counselling for admission to BTech, BBA, BA LLB, BBA LLB courses at NIU will be held in the month of July (tentative). Currently application process and exam are underwau. The counselling process will be conducted for selection of candidates for admission to the UG courses. It will include roup discussion and personal interview. Candidates can register for NSAT 2026 now to get admission at the NIU.

NSAT Counselling 2026: GD-PI

NSAT counselling process will include GD-PI. Here are a few points to keep in mind for this personal assessment round, as final selection is based on it. If you don’t perform well in this round, you may not be selected for admission.

  • Practice public speaking for group discussion. It is not enough to have knowledge of the topic but. You should be able to speak your points in a group in a clear and coherent way.
  • Practice mock interview and go through videos of B-School PIs to know what to expect.
  • Candidates often fumble on trick questions.
  • Don’t get intimidated by questions. If you don’t know the answer say you don’t know. Do not beat around the bush in an effort to impress.
  • Interviewers prefer honesty over everything else.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for NSAT?
A: 

NSAT is conducted for admission to UG courses, thus the minimum eligibility criteria is class 12 or equivalent pass. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 50 percent in their class 12 exam. For, BBA, BBA LLB course, the stream of education can be ARrts, Commerce or Science. BTech applicants must have completed their class 12 from Science stream (with maths). 

Q:   Is NSAT exam tough to crack?
A: 

NSAT exam is of low difficulty level. Candidates can get a high score in the exam by studying the basics of topics included in syllabus and practicing a few sample papers.

Q:   What is NIU admission process through NSAT?
A: 

NIU admission process through NSAT includes shortlisting of candidates for counselling, conduct of counselling round and final selection. Candidates who meet NSAT cut off or CUET cut off, are shortlisted for admission and a provisional merit list is released. Selected candidates are then required to reserve seat by paying 50 percent of the semester fee. The remaining fee is to be paid within a month to confirm admission.

NSAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria are selected for admission to the university.

  • Candidate must have minimum 50% in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board or university.
  • Those who have appeared for Class 12 exam are also eligible to apply.
  • Admission of such candidates will be provisional until submission of passing certificate.

Q:   Is NSAT mandatory for admission to NIU?

No, NSAT or NIU Scholarship cum Admission Test is not mandatory for NIU admission. The institute also accepts CUET for technical programmes. If a candidate has CUET score they can directly seek admission to NIU through counselling. However, if a candidate wishes to appear for NSAT and use its score for admission, they are allowed to do so.

Q:   What is the NSAT 2026 exam date?
A: 

There is no particular date for NSAT. Candidates are allotted an exam date and slot as per their registration and availability.

Q:   How to prepare for NSAT exam?
A: 

NSAT exam preparation includes covering the syllabus topics wise and practice of sample questions. The syllabus pertains to subjects studied in class 11 and 12, so essentially it will require revision of the same.

Document Required for NSAT Counselling

NSAT 2026 counselling schedule for each course will be communicated to selected students. They have to be present in person for Counselling. In case of absence, the seat will be allotted to the next deserving candidate. Here’s the list of document you must carry for NSAT Counselling:

  • Aadhar or any other ID proof

You can apply for BBA, BA LLB and BBA LLB courses through NSAT. The entrance exam is mandatory for admission to these courses.

NSAT application fee can be paid through account transfer and demand draft. Candidates must make sure their demand draft, along with duly filled form is received by the institute before the last date of application submission.
