NSAT 2026 counselling process includes Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates must prepare well for this round as it is essential to clear this round to get admission. Here are a few points to keep in mind while preparing for this round.
- Practice public speaking. It is not enough to have knowledge of the topic. You should be able to speak your points in a group in a clear and coherent way.
- Practice mock interview and go through videos of B-School PI preparation to know what to expect.
- Candidates often fumble on trick questions. Prepare for answers to give in such situations.
- Don’t get intimidated by the interview panel. If you don’t know the answer say you don’t know. Do not beat around the bush in an effort to impress.

Candidates who meet NSAT cut off or CUET cut off, are shortlisted for admission and a provisional merit list is released. NSAT is conducted for admission to UG courses, thus the minimum eligibility criteria is class 12 or equivalent pass. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 50 percent in their class 12 exam. For, BBA, BBA LLB course, the stream of education can be ARrts, Commerce or Science. BTech applicants must have completed their class 12 from Science stream (with maths).
NSAT exam is of low difficulty level. Candidates can get a high score in the exam by studying the basics of topics included in syllabus and practicing a few sample papers.

No, NSAT or NIU Scholarship cum Admission Test is not mandatory for NIU admission. The institute also accepts CUET for technical programmes. If a candidate has CUET score they can directly seek admission to NIU through counselling. However, if a candidate wishes to appear for NSAT and use its score for admission, they are allowed to do so.
There is no particular date for NSAT. Candidates are allotted an exam date and slot as per their registration and availability.
NSAT exam preparation includes covering the syllabus topics wise and practice of sample questions. The syllabus pertains to subjects studied in class 11 and 12, so essentially it will require revision of the same.

NSAT is a low difficulty level exam. The questions are simple and straightforward. All the questions are in MCQ format with four options so it is easier to answer them. There is no sectional cut off requirement.
Sectional weightage in NSAT is equal for all sections. NSAT BTech paper has 25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Similarly, NSAT BBA, BA LLB, BBA LLB papers have 25 questions each in English, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness.
