Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering are two different fields of study at the Manipal Institute of Technology. Aerospace Engineering covers aeronautical and astronautical aspects, while Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of Engineering that deals with machines and devices. MIT is a good college when it comes to placements for Mechanical Engineering students. Approximately 70-80% of students normally get placed with an average salary package. The department has state-of-the-art infrastructure including an autoclave, flight simulator, low subsonic wind tunnel, advanced composites lab, computation lab, gas turbine testing rig, avionics lab, and Trinidad TB 20 aircraft.

In contrast, the Mechanical Engineering programme at MIT is also a 4-year undergraduate course that requires minimum eligibility of Class 12 examination with Science subjects such as Biology Maths and Chemistry. The testimonials of alumni suggest that the recruiting companies are good for Mechanical Engineering graduates like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Infosys, Ashok Leyland, Cummins, Vedanta, and John Deere among others. IIIT Allahabad accpets JEE Main score for admission to the BTech courses. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech.
