Andhra Pradesh EAPCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test.  AP EAP CET was previously known as Andhra Pradesh EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test). AP EAMCET is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).  AP EAMCET is conducted for admission into various professional courses offered in Colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a computer-based test (CBT) for admission into first year of professional courses. AP EAMCET exam is conducted annually.  AP EAMCET syllabus is based on curriculum of Class 11 and Class 12.

Yes, there are specific subject requirements for eligibility to apply for AP EAMCET

For Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)

Candidates who appeared for Class 12 or an equivalent exam, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as the main subjects.
Candidates appearing in the Diploma exam recognised by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.

For Agriculture and Pharmacy courses 
Candidates must have appeared in the Class 12 exam or equivalent, with  Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as the main subjects.

There is a minimum education requirement for AP EAMCET 2026.  Candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent. A Diploma in engineering is also considered for engineering admission through AP EAMCET 2026.

For Engineering and Pharmacy
Students must be at least 16 years of age as of December 31 of the year of admission. There is no specific upper age limit for candidates applying to AP EAMCET.

For Agriculture and Medical courses
Students must be at least 17 years of age as of December 31 of the year of admission, there is an upper age limit. For general category candidates, upper age limit is 22 years, and for SC/ST candidates, it is 25 years.

Important dates for Andhra Pradesh EAMCET

Application Form - Will be available in March and April

The MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) stream and the BiPC (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) stream on different dates. AP EAMCET 2026 Engineering Exam will be conducted on May 12, 13, 14, 15 and 18, 2026. The AP EAMCET Agriculture and Pharmacy exam will be on May 19 and 20, 2026. Steps to download AP EAMCET syllabus

• Go to official AP EAMCET website, cets.apsche.ap.gov.in.

• Click on syllabus link and download PDF version for both streams (Engineering or Agriculture/Pharmacy).

Candidates have to carry a valid photo ID proof like an Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, etc., along with their Andhra Pradesh EAMCET admit card to the exam centre. It is mandatory to take the admit card to the exam centre. The candidates will not be permitted inside the exam centre without the admit card and a valid ID proof. The candidates have to check all the details on the admit card before taking it to the exam centre.

Andhra Pradesh EAMCET 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019 question papers are available on the Shiksha page. Candidates can click on the links to download and practice from previous years' Andhra Pradesh EAMCET question papers. The AP EAMCET exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each of the MCQs will have four options. The candidates are required to choose the correct answer from four options. Each question carries 1 mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

The AP EAMCET result will have the following details

AP EAMCET Answer Key is released on the official website. The candidates must click on the AP EAMCET 2026 answer key link based on the shift they appeared for. Once they find the link, they can click on it to download the AP EAMCET 2026 answer key. The AP EAMCET answer key is released in a PDF format. Candidates should save the answer key for future reference. It is important to note that the answer key is generally released a few days after the completion of the exam.

The preliminary Andhra Pradesh EAMCET answer key is released soon after exam to allow candidates to check answers and raise objections if they find any discrepancies. The final answer key is released after checking all objections, and it is used to calculate the actual exam results.

AP EAMCET Answer Key for Agriculture and Pharmacy Stream will be released in May 2026, tentatively. The candidates can raise objections against the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET Agriculture and Pharmacy Stream answer key few days after the release of the answer key. 

AP EAMCET 2026 counselling registration can be done from July 2026.  The exam date for the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET 2026 exam will be in May 2026. The counselling process of Andhra Pradesh EAMCET includes registration, seat allotment, and filling web options. The conducting authority will activate the links for the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET 2026 registration and web options entry on the dates mentioned. 

The candidates who qualify in the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET 2026 examination can participate in the counselling process. The candidates must also fulfil the other eligibility criteria to appear for counselling. The other eligibility criteria are that the candidates must have cleared class 12 or equivalent with 45% marks in group subjects. The reserved category students must score above 40% in group subjects.

Yes, candidates can attend in special situations. The candidates can verify their certificates online. For the Certificate verification, the candidates would enter their hall ticket number and date of birth. In case the candidates find any difficulty during the Certificate verification process, they can visit the nearest service centre. Once the document verification process is completed, the candidate can see the print-verified option.

AP EAMCET will be conducted in 3 languages: English, Telugu, and Urdu. The candidates who want to take the exam in Urdu can only appear for the exam at Kurnool at the specified exam centres. The question paper will be in Telugu and English in all the other centres. 

No, there is no negative marking in the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET exam. For every correct answer, candidates receive one mark, but no marks are deducted for incorrect responses or unanswered questions. This applies to both the engineering and agriculture streams of the exam.

The Andhra Pradesh EAMCET exam consists of a total of 160 questions.

For Engineering candidates, the question distribution is as follows:

Physics: 40 questions
Chemistry: 40 questions
Mathematics: 80 questions

For Agriculture and Medical candidates, the distribution is:

Physics: 40 questions
Chemistry: 40 questions
Biology: 80 questions (which includes both Botany and Zoology)

Candidates from Telangana or any other state can also apply for AP EAMCET, but admission for these candidates is given based on non-local quota rules. 15% of seat allotment in private colleges is allocated for non-local candidates.

Hundreds of Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Colleges in Andhra Pradesh accept the AP EAMCET score. The number of colleges changes every year. The complete list of participating institutes is updated on the official website every year. The list will also include the cutoff score for the particular institute.
