IIT Delhi Highlights 2026

IIT Delhi was established in 1961 and later declared as Institution of National Importance. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has been ranked 4 under the 'Overall' category and 2 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF Ranking 2025. The popular programmes offered at IIT Delhi include BTech and MTech. IIT Delhi is planning to open its campus in Abu Dhabi. IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi campus is the first step taken towards internationalising India’s education. Indian Institute of Technology IIT Delhi arranges a variety of events for students ranging from seminars, conferences, fests, and others.

According to the press report of April 17, 2025 released by IIT Delhi Delhi, UG students of the Institute have secured 850 unique offers during the placement drive 2025. The number of unique offer this year has increased as compared with previous three years. Core (Technical) sector emerged as the top recruiting sector that placed 34% of the total students during IIT Delhi placement 2025. Q: How good are the BTech placements at IIT Delhi?

A total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed during the Phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2025. Further, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25.

According to NIRF report 2025, the median package received during BTech placement 2024 was INR 19.08 LPA. Further, 711 students were placed and 49 students opted for higher studies out of total 946 students during IIT Delhi BTech placement 2024.

According to unofficial sources, the placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi BTech placements 2023 was 90.01%.
