Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota, was started on July 23, 1987. It offers many courses like UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate programmes in different subjects through its study centres. The university also allows lateral entry for some courses.VMOU admissions are held twice a year, in January and July. Students have to appear for two semester exams every year. The Term End Examinations (TEE) are conducted in June and December. To get admission in UG courses, students must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board. For PG courses, students must have completed graduation from a recognised university. Admission to B.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D, MBA, and MCA courses is based on an entrance test.

VMOU offers various UG and PG courses in multiple disciplines. Details of courses offered by VMOU are as follows:

UG courses: BA (preparatory program and pass course), BCom. (preparatory program and pass course), BSc (preparatory program and pass course), Bachelor of Journalism (regular and lateral), BLibISc, BBA, BCA, BSW, B Ed. Duration for regular UG courses is three years. The duration of Bachelor of Journalism, BLibISc and various other preparatory programme is one year. The duration for Bachelor of Journalism (Lateral Entry) course is 6 months.

PG Courses: VMOU offers various masters courses such as MA, MSc, MCom, MJ, MLilSc, MCA, MSW and PG Diploma at the postgraduate level. Duration for Masters in Journalism, Master in Library & Information Science and the PG Diploma courses is one year. All the other PG level courses are offered for a duration of two years. MA course is offered in 14 different specialisations. MSc course is offered under three subjects and PG Diploma is offered in nine specialisations.

The exam process of VMOU is explained below:

Filling VMOU exam form
You have to fill out the VMOU exam form for each paper or course separately, that is required for all candidates. The exam fee for BAP, BCP, BScP, Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor Degree courses is INR 200 per paper or course. The late fees for these courses are also INR 200 per paper. For PG Diploma and Master Degree exams, the fee is INR 300 for each paper/course. If you pay late for those, the fee is also INR 300 per paper.
VMOU Admit Card
VMOU sends out your admit card for the term end examination, it comes as a permission letter. VMOU exam admit card will be ready about one week before the exams actually start. If you are taking the term end examination, you can check and download your VMOU admit cards from the official website. You must enter your full name and your challan number to get the card downloaded.
Appearing in VMOU Exam
VMOU holds the term end examination in June and December for lots of different courses. You have to pass the exam, that is the rule, so you can move on to the next stage of your course.
Declaration of VMOU Result
The VMOU TEE result is published online on the official website. You, the student, can check your result by logging in using your ‘Scholar Number’. The result paper will show information like your personal details and all the marks you got in the term-end exam. Students who get the minimum passing marks, or more than that, are considered to have passed the exam. The candidates who qualify will be promoted based on the university's rules. VMOU admit card is a very important document for you if you are going to appear in VMOU exams. It is released by Vardhman Mahavir Open University on its official website vmou.ac.in. Many students also call it VMOU permission letter. You cannot enter the exam hall without this admit card, so you must download it on time. You need your scholar number to get the admit card online.

When VMOU exam Admit Card is released, you should not wait till last day. You go to the website, click on permission letter link, and enter your scholar number. After login, your admit card show on screen. You must download it and take a clear printout. Only printed copy is allowed in exam centre, mobile copy is not accepted.

Your VMOU hall ticket have many important details. It shows your name, scholar number, exam date, exam time, exam centre address, subject details, photo, and signature. You should check all details carefully. If any small mistake is there, you must contact VMOU office quickly.

VMOU TEE exam is conducted in many Indian cities. These cities have designated exam centres to conduct VMOU 2026 test. Most VMOU test centres conduct the exam in two different shifts: Morning Shift (9 AM - 12 PM) and Evening Shift ( 2 PM - 5 PM).
