How is CMAT Percentile Calculated?
CMAT percentile score is calculated from the scaled score of each candidate. Since, CMAT is conducted in two sessions, the score is normalized to evaluate candidates across sessions, on the same scale. The CMAT percentile is then calculated on the basis of the rank of a candidate vs the total number of candidates who appeared in the exam.
Formula to Calculate CMAT Percentile:
Percentile P = 100 x Number of candidates appeared in the examination with raw marks equal to or less than the candidate/Total number of candidates appeared
For example, if about 10,000 candidates appeared in CMAT and a candidate scored highest marks (350/400) their rank will be 1 and CMAT percentile score will be: 100 x 9999/10,000= 99.99
CMAT rank can also be calculated with the below given formula:
10,000 - 1/10,000 x 100 = 99.99.
Two or more candidates getting the same rank: In case more than one candidates secure same ranking in the CMAT exam, the same rank will be assigned to all of them but will be displayed by sorting their names alphabetically. The CMAT rank of the subsequent candidate will then be extended by the number of additional students having the same rank. Eg: If three students are at 25th Rank then subsequent student will be ranked as 28th.
