The UPTAC choice filling process means filling of perefrence of colleges and courses by the candidates where they want to get admission. Candidates can fill in the option of branch and institute as per their JEE Main ranks and preference. The candidates are also advised to choose only those branches/institutes in which they are interested in taking admission. The list of courses and institutes available to the candidates is displayed based on the candidates’ rank in the entrance exam under their respective logins. Candidates can select and arrange the choices in order of their preference. For UPTAC counselling 2025 choice filling, candidates have to login to the counselling portal using the JEE Main 2025 application number and UPTAC counselling password.

Adding choices

• The UPTAC counselling 2025 choice filling page is divided into two panes. The left pane shows all available choices, and right pane shows all submitted choices. Candidates can add as many choices in the order of preference as they wish from left pane.
• As they press “Add” button of left pane to add a particular choice, that choice will be added to right pane and removed from left pane.
• The choices submitted and residing in right pane will be considered as submitted choices after pressing ‘SAVE’ button.

Deleting choices

• Candidates can delete any submitted choice by pressing “Delete” button in right pane.
• As they press “Delete” button in right pane, that choice will be removed from right pane and will be added to left pane.

Change choice order

• Candidates can move up any submitted choice by pressing “Move Up” button.
• As candidate presses “Move Up” button, choice will be shifted one place above, and above choice will be shifted one place down. So by doing this, candidate can move up any choice in list of submitted choices.
• Candidates can move down any submitted choice by pressing “Move Down” button. As candidate presses “Move Down” button, choice will be shifted one place down, and choice below will be shifted one place up. So by doing this, candidate can move down any choice in list of submitted choices.
• 'Candidates can interchange/swap two submitted choices by this interface. Two drop-down lists will be available on this page. These lists will be populated by filled choices. Candidates will choose different choices in lists and press interchange button. As candidate presses button, both choices will be interchanged.
• A separate page will be available to change/edit preference order of multiple submitted choices. All submitted choices will be listed as per their preference on this page, and preference number will be in editable mode. A candidate can edit any preference order with a valid number and submit choices with new preference orders.

Multiple Deletion of Filled Choices

• If any candidate wants to delete multiple submitted choices in a single go, then they will choose this interface. For each submitted choice, there is a checkbox to select choice.
• Candidate will select multiple choices and press delete button to delete choices in a single click.

Locking of Choices

• Candidates MUST lock their choices after they have finalised them within schedule.
• Choices once locked cannot be unlocked or modified. If candidates fail to explicitly lock their choices by last date & time, their last saved choices will be automatically locked by system.

Print Locked Choices

After locking, candidate may take a printout of locked choices.

The candidates are given to edit their choices until the UPTAC counselling round 3. Candidates can add choices / delete choices / rearrange the choices until round 3. It must be kept in mind that after each change, candidates must save the choices. Once they are satisfied with their preference, they must then lock the choices before the deadline of each round.

On completion of the choice filling process according to the given schedule, the automatic UPTAC 2025 seat allotment process is done based on merit, and the candidate are allotted a seat based on their preference given during choice filling. Thereafter, the seat allocation result will be posted on the website - uptac.admissions.nic.in. Candidates can view the allotted seat from their login. After seat allocation, the candidate can choose to 'freeze' or 'float' their seat by paying the seat acceptance fee. Candidates who do not accept the seat, i.e. do not pay the seat acceptance fee, will be disqualified from counselling and will not be allowed to participate in any further stage of the counselling process.
