After downloading the JEE Mains April attempt scorecard, look for the following 5 important things:

  1. Verify your details carefully: Check your name, application number, and category to ensure there are no discrepancies in your result.
  2. Check your percentile and AIR: Focus on both your score and All India Rank, as rank is crucial for admissions and qualification for JEE Advanced.
  3. Download and save the scorecard: Keep multiple copies (PDF/print) for use during counselling via the Joint Seat Allocation Authority and other admission processes.
  4. Understand normalisation: Scores are calculated using a normalisation process, so do not compare raw marks directly with others.
  5. Check qualification status: Confirm whether you are eligible for JEE Advanced and review category-wise cut-offs to plan your next steps accordingly.

Common Issues While Checking JEE Mains Result and Their Solutions

Here are five common issues students may face while checking or downloading the JEE Main Session 2 result:

  • Website crash or slow loading: The official result portal may become slow or unresponsive due to heavy traffic when results are announced. In such cases, wait and try again later.
  • Login issues: Students may forget their application number, password, or face OTP/login errors while accessing the result. You can retrieve the password and application number from the website itself. (Read: JEE Main 2026 Password Reset & Recovery | JEE Main 2026 Forgot Application Number)
  • Incorrect or missing details: Sometimes, details like name, category, or percentile may appear incorrect or confusing. Contact NTA in such a case.
  • Scorecard not downloading: The result PDF may fail to download due to server issues, browser problems, or a poor internet connection. Check the connection and browser settings.
  • Confusion over percentile vs rank: Many students misunderstand normalised percentile scores and their relation to rank, leading to misinterpretation of performance. (Check: What is NTA Score: Meaning, How to Check, Calculation Process, Marks vs Percentile)

Commonly asked questions
Q:   When will CSAB counselling start?
A:

The CSAB counselling is conducted after the completion of JoSAA. The dates of CSAB is announced after the last round JoSAA counselling at csab.nic.in. How is the JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 Result Different from Session 1?

The final JEE Main Session 2 result is important because it determines the final All India Rank (AIR) and eligibility for JEE Advanced, along with admission through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority.

Unlike Session 1, which offers a first attempt and scope for improvement, Session 2 is considered final as it uses the best of two scores to prepare the merit list. It ultimately decides college options, cut-offs, and the candidate’s admission prospects.
