JEE Main exam is the gateway for admission to the country’s top engineering and technical institutes. Last year, over 12.3 lakh students registered for the exam of which only 2.5 lakh could qualify. After this students become eligible for JEE Advanced.
JEE Main has 75 questions in total with 25 in each subject i.e. in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Each question carries four marks and one mark negative marking.
The preparation takes more than two years and also the last week is highly decisive for qualifying students for JEE Main to Advance.
Some of the important tips of Do’s and Don’t mention below:
Don’t study any new topic
The biggest mistake which most of the students make is that they take new topics at the last moment and waste time by getting stressed up and which leads to underperforming in the exam. Hence it is important that you only the important topics and also based on the weightage and strength topic of yours.
Make sure you make your handwritten notes of all important concepts, formulae, statements, tricks, etc.
Analysing the mocks
The most important thing is analysing your mocks, go through your mocks and spend double the time as to where you made mistakes and where you attempted the answer correctly. Based on that work on your strengths and weakness of the topics you found after analysing it.
Sleep and studying hours
Make sure you take sufficient rest before the exam especially. It is said that at least seven hours of sleep before the exam makes your mental ability stronger. Early to bed, early to rise. So, don’t compromise on sleep at any cost. Also, take light food before you leave for the exam.
While revising give break after 50 minutes of continuous study for at least 10 minutes. As this will help your brain to takeup information. This will also make you feel fresh and your concentration power will be improving.
Be highly focused and confident.
Arrange essential things
Finally, on the day of the exam make sure you reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes before so that you don’t have to rush at the last moment and stress yourself. Also, make sure you have taken all the required documents before leaving home.
Bonus tip
On the day of the exam, make sure you attempt those questions which you know and kindly don’t give any random guesses as this will lead to negative marking. Time management is highly crucial as its only 180 minutes for 75 questions. Don’t spend more than two minutes on a question. As in last you will save buffer time. So that which you can utilize for answering the questions for which you could do well. Also, have chocolate before the exam, this will boost your brain and make you feel relaxed.
