To begin with, don’t get upset in case you have scored low in JEE Mains. Rather, see what the reason behind the downfall was. It happens, but be strong and learn through your mistakes. There are various options you can go for after this. Here is what you can do:

Drop a year?

Dropping can be an option if you are eager to get good colleges. However, this is not going to be easy as this can be your real test. Preparing for something again you have already prepared for two years is going to be tough. Also, preparing for the full syllabus which was initially of two years and now to do the same in a year will not be easy. There will be times during the preparation when you will feel like quitting everything. Also, at one time you will get bored with the things happening around you. You will get bored with the subjects. There may come times when you will feel like you have studied this earlier, you don’t need to study that anymore but dear, this isn’t true, you have to study each and everything again. Skipping anything thinking that you know about it is a very bad idea.

But if you patiently and consistently study the syllabus the whole year then there will surely be good results. The thing is that you need to be positive for the things and the goal should be written on the wall aside your table so that you can focus properly. The dream should not be in your mind, it should be written on a paper because the dreams which are in our thoughts will always be dreams and they will change every day. You have an upper edge while dropping as you will know how to tackle the environment and how to utilise the time efficiently. You can handle things better then.

Look for the best colleges that take admissions via low scores.

With a low score, don’t opt for government colleges as they won’t be good enough. You need to choose from private colleges. These include:

Wait for subsequent counselling sessions?

If you come to the reserved category, you should definitely wait for the subsequent rounds of counselling. However, if you are in a general category, don’t waste your time waiting for the subsequent results of the counseling.

Attempt JEE Mains again in May.

You must give a try in May because after January Mains, you will have almost two months for the preparation. Your 12th board's preparation will also help you a lot to get ready for the exam.
