Q:   Is BITSAT held online?

BITS, Pilani, conducts the BITSAT exam in online mode as a computer-based test. Students have to report to the designated exam centre to appear for the test. Details on the exam date, timings and centre address will be provided on the BITSAT hall ticket.

Q:   What is the total duration of the BITSAT exam?
A: 

BITSAT exam pattern is released online. Students will have to answer all questions in 3 hours. No extra time will be allowed.

Additional Questions in BITSAT

Students are given 12 additional questions if they finish exam before time. No extra time will be given for additional questions. Authorities will prepare questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning sections. Once students start these additional questions, they cannot edit their previous answers.

Q:   How many sessions are held for BITSAT?

The authority conducts the BITSAT exam in two sessions. The BITSAT 2026 session 1 exam was held from April 15 to 16. The session 2 exam was held from May 25 to 27, 2026. Candidates can appear in any one or both sessions. In case students appear for both the best of the two will be considered.

Q:   How many questions will be present in the BITSAT paper?
A: 

In BITSAT, students have to answer 130 objective questions. Each question will have four options. Correct one has to be selected. If all questions are finished before time, then additional 12 questions will be given to students to solve for extra marks.

Q:   What is the division of questions in BITSAT pattern?
A: 

The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.

An important aspect of the BITSAT test pattern is the marking scheme. The marking scheme covers the total marks, negative marks and the section-wise marks. Each correct answer fetches students +3 marks and for every wrong answer, they lose 1 mark. Thus, for 130 questions, the total marks become 390. BITSAT 2026 Syllabus

BITSAT 2026 syllabus has been published on the official website. The syllabus mentions the subjects, units and topics that must be studied for the test. The BITSAT syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Logical Reasoning, similar to the level of 11th and 12th standard qualifying entrance exam. Knowing the syllabus will allow the candidates to know how to prepare for the examination. Students will be given 12 additional questions if they finish all 130 questions within 3 hours. Three questions will be available from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. Students will not be able to go back to previously answered 130 questions, once they start solving additional questions.

Q:   What is the BITSAT 2026 exam date?

The authorities have announced the BITSAT 2026 exam date for both sessions. Students can attempt one of both exam sessions. BITSAT was held as an online test from April 15 to 17, 2026 (session 1). Session 2 was conducted from May 25 to 27, 2026.

Q:   How can I attempt the BITSAT additional questions?
A: 

BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.

BITSAT 2026 admit card for session 1 was issued on April 10 at 10:20 PM. The session 2 hall ticket release date and time was May 20 at 5:30 PM.

BITS, Pilani, conducts the BITSAT exam in two shifts. The timings for the morning session are from 9 AM to 12 PM, and others are from 2 PM to 5 PM in the afternoon session. Candidates can select the BITSAT slot timings using the BITSAT slot booking system.
