IIT Madras

M Tech in Functional Materials and Nanotechnology

• Students with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ with at least 60% marks from educational institutions approved by AICTE/ Government are eligible to apply.
• Students with a B.Tech degree from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 and above can apply without the GATE exam score.
• Admission is done via the GATE exam score and COAP Counseling.

IIT Roorkee

MTech in Nanotechnology

• Students who have passed bachelors with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD category students) from a recognized institution are eligible to apply.
• Admission is based on the score obtained in GATE. 10% of the intake without GATE will be offered to IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10 point scale.

BTech in Nanotechnology

• Students must have passed Class 12 with 60% in Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject.
• Accepted Exam Scores: SRMJEEE (UG), JEE Main, TNEA Counselling

MTech in Nanotechnology

• Students must have completed B.E / B.Tech (Any Specialization), M.Sc (Physics / Materials Science / Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology) with Mathematics as one of the subjects at B.Sc level (or) its equivalent degree with at least 50% marks.
• A four-year bachelor’s degree in Sciences/ Engineering or its equivalent is also considered.
• Students must score really well in GATE OR SRMJEEE PG to be considered for admission.

BTech in Nanotechnology

• Students must have passed Class 12 with PCB/PCM subjects with 60% marks (for Non-Sponsored Category) and 50% (for Sponsored Category) from any recognized board/council.

Integrated BTech + MTech in Nanotechnology

• For the Non Sponsored Category: Students must have 60% aggregate marks in Class 10 and Class 12
• For the Sponsored Category: Students must have 55% aggregate marks in Class 10 and Class 12

MTech in Nano Science and Technology

• Students must have secured at least 60% marks in BTech in Nanotechnology or a related field and possess a valid GATE score.

MTech in Nanotechnology

• Students must have passed a bachelor's degree with 60% marks. They should secure 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks for GEN-EWS, whereas 6.0 CGPA or 55% in case of PwD candidates. In case, the result of qualifying degree is awaited, provisional admission is permitted.
• Students must have a valid GATE score of the year 2024 / 2025 / 2026.

Undergraduate (B.E/BTech in Nanotechnology)

Completion of Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects with at least 50 to 60% marks.

JEE Main Syllabus

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are the three courses covered in the JEE Main Syllabus. Both theoretical and practical component are included in physics. Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry are all types of chemistry. The subjects covered in Mathematics are from Classes 11 and 12.

GATE Syllabus

The syllabus for GATE varies across various disciplines and topics such as Verbal Ability and Numerical Ability are the common topics for all papers. Moreover, the syllabus for various specialisations is of graduation-level and candidates ability to solve reasoning and numerical questions are also tested through this examination.

CEETA PG examination is divided into three main parts; the first part involves Engineering Mathematics, and the second part contains questions based on basic engineering sciences. Further, the third part of the CEETA PG syllabus consists of discipline-based questions, the one chosen by the students.
