BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern: BITS Pilani, has released the BITSAT exam pattern at admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in. The detailed BITSAT paper pattern is updated on this page. Additional Questions in BITSAT

Students are given 12 additional questions if they finish exam before time. No extra time will be given for additional questions. Authorities will prepare questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning sections. Once students start these additional questions, they cannot edit their previous answers.

BITSAT Total Marks & Marking Scheme

An important aspect of the BITSAT test pattern is the marking scheme. The marking scheme covers the total marks, negative marks and the section-wise marks. Each correct answer fetches students +3 marks and for every wrong answer, they lose 1 mark. Thus, for 130 questions, the total marks become 390. BITSAT 2026 Syllabus

BITSAT 2026 syllabus has been published on the official website. The syllabus mentions the subjects, units and topics that must be studied for the test. The BITSAT syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Logical Reasoning, similar to the level of 11th and 12th standard qualifying entrance exam. Knowing the syllabus will allow the candidates to know how to prepare for the examination. While the PCM subjects are familiar to those who are preparing for JEE Mains and other engineering entrances, the English and logical reasoning sections become the extra sections that require additional practice and fetch marks in the test.

Q:   How are the BITSAT additional questions divided?
A: 

Students will be given 12 additional questions if they finish all 130 questions within 3 hours. Three questions will be available from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. Students will not be able to go back to previously answered 130 questions, once they start solving additional questions.

Q:   What is the BITSAT 2026 exam date?
A: 

The authorities have announced the BITSAT 2026 exam date for both sessions. Students can attempt one of both exam sessions. BITSAT was held as an online test from April 15 to 17, 2026 (session 1). Session 2 was conducted from May 25 to 27, 2026.

Q:   How can I attempt the BITSAT additional questions?
A: 

BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.

Q:   Is extra time given for the 12 BITSAT additional questions?
A: 

Students will not be given any extra time to complete 12 additional questions in BITSAT paper. Additional questions have to be solved within 3 hours. These will only be provided if students complete 130 original questions before exam ends.
