As per the initial student reaction after JEE Main 23 Jan shift 2 exam:

  • Overall the paper was moderate.
  • Maths was moderate to hard and lengthy.
  • Physics has been rated easy to moderate.
  • Chemistry was easy to moderate.
  • Topics in Maths came from - Vector and 3D, AP, Conic section, Parabola, Permutation and combination, complex numbers
  • In Physics questions came from - Electrostatics, Current electricity, diode, galvanometer, ray optics, prism, fluid, pressure, kinematics, projectile, spring, heat, waves, photoelectric, error, rotation, moment of inertia, torque
  • In Chemistry questions came from - Biomolecules, named reactions, PH
  • NATs in chemistry were hard.
  • In centres around 5 rough sheets are given and if asked, 2 extra rough sheets are given. The rough sheets are A4 size loose papers.
  • Original ID cards must be carried.
  • Weightage of class 12 was more than class 11 syllabus.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?
A:

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.

Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?
A:

Paper 1 has 75 questions where Physics Chemistry and Mathematics, each section has 25 questions. Out of 25 questions, 20 are MCQs and five are numerical value questions. You must answer all 5 numerical value-type questions. All 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory. Complete all 75 questions in 3 hours.

As per the initial student reaction after JEE Main 23 Jan shift 1 exam:

  • Frisking was very strict. A candidate at Kota Centre was asked to remove their t-shirt as there was metal in the button of their shirt.
  • Overall the paper was moderate and a bit difficult than the paper held on day 1.
  • Time distribution: Chemistry took at least 40 minutes to solve and Maths took 1.5 hours to solve.
  • Maths was moderate to hard and lengthy.
  • Physics has been rated easy to moderate.
  • Chemistry was easy to moderate.
  • Topics in Maths came from: Integration, Calculus, relation and functions, circles, differentiation, vector & 3d, conic section, parabola, tangent permutation and combination.
  • In Physics questions came from modern physics, electrostatic, gravitation, semiconductors, ray optics, refractive index, lens, current electricity.
  • In Chemistry questions came from p-block, Aromacity, Solutions, Coordination compound, Freezing point, biomolecules, aldehydes, ketones, thermodynamics, named reactions, chemical bonding, octet rule.

How to Calculate Score Using JEE Main 2025 Answer Key and Question Papers

To calculate scores using the JEE Main 2025 answer key available after the exam, candidates can use the steps below:

  • Step 1: Download the JEE Main 2025 answer key with question paper solutions.
  • Step 2: Now, analyse how many questions you have marked correctly and incorrectly in the exam. Since the JEE Main answer keys made available after the exam are memory-based, there can be some anomalies in it.
  • Step 3: Once you have analysed the number of questions you have marked correctly and incorrectly, apply the JEE Main 2025 marking scheme to calculate the total score in the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam.

JEE Main 2025 marking scheme: Add 4 marks for each correct answer and deduct 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

JEE Main 2025 Cutoff to Qualify for JEE Advanced

Candidates who wish to take admission to the IITs, have to qualify the minimum marks JEE Main 2025 percentile score to be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. The minimum JEE Main 2025 marks required to qualify for JEE Advanced are released with the JEE Main 2025 final result, which is after the session 2 result. Until the final result and the JEE Main 2025 cutoff for JEE Advanced 2025 are announced, candidates can check below the previous year cutoffs:

JEE Main 2025 Result

The JEE Main result 2025 is scheduled for release by February 12, 2025. Candidates can access their session 1 results at jeemain.nta.nic.in. To retrieve the results, candidates will need to provide their application number along with their date of birth as login credentials. Candidates need to download their NTA JEE Main scorecard and retain it for subsequent admission processes. The scorecard will detail the normalised percentile scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as well as the overall aggregate percentile across these three subjects, indicative of their performance relative to peers.
