Students’ Speak: Preparing for JEE Main along with school? These tips are for you

Just before a month to JEE, focus more on the part that you are well-versed with and not something that’s new. If you don’t understand one of the concepts of any topic then leave it as it is. Your last week's strategy must revolve around revising all the topics and making short notes on your copy.

This article is for students who are currently preparing for JEE Main, the most crucial paper for admission to Engineering courses. It is the first step towards Engineering. Currently, if you are in Class 11th then you have enough time in hand to prepare for JEE. I would suggest that if you prepare hard for this right now then it would be easy for you to sail through the exam.

But how do you manage time and juggle between studies at school and for JEE Main? Usually, when you come to Class 12th, you have to prepare for both Boards and JEE. So, for managing time what you can do is to make a time table and give time to boards preparation for a specific period of time and give rest of time to JEE preparation as getting 75 per cent out of 100 is not so tough which is the mandatory criteria to sit in a JEE exam.

In the JEE exam, the easiest subject is Chemistry. So, what you have to do is study more for Chemistry as it’s easier than both Physics and Math. You can easily understand the concepts of Organic Chemistry, which is the most scoring part. Second, focus on Inorganic Chemistry. Then you can move to Physics and Math and this should be the attempting criteria for you in the exam also. Attempt Chemistry first followed by remaining subjects. Now it’s time to solve all previous year exam questions and believe me it will help you a lot. Managing your Class 12th with JEE is also important, as there are many concepts that will come both in Boards and JEE. So, Boards is also as important as JEE is, you have to make a proper time table, else you wouldn’t able to score well in subjects such as English, Physical Education.

For boards, you can refer to NCERT books that are similarly important for JEE. You have to manage your time wisely, for this, you can make a list of subjects in which you are weak and study well for those subjects, it will help you a lot in time management.
